Sorry to interrupt guys, and my bad for not reading the last 125 pages completely through, though I've been watching this thread for a good while. According to the last few pages, I understand that the i760 is now supposed to be out on Nov. 1? Can someone confirm?
That being the case, I don't think I can wait much longer and now have my eyes on the HTC Kaiser 120. I just wanted to know if anyone else had the same mindset as me and has any more info on when that will be available to the US, or if there are any other similiar phones coming out in the next week or so that can compete.
I really wanted the i760, and still do... but I don't think I can wait yet another month and change after all the waiting I've already done
As a side question, can anyone explain how some poeple got it early?
A small number of people (reportedly less than 100) were able to get the phone by calling 611 and giving them the SKU numbers. That was quickly locked down the next day.
Release dates have been rumored to be Sept 24 to Oct. 5/6... They are all still rumors. There is no confirmation, although the general consensus from internal VZW people appear to coincide with this estimate.
You can't compare VZW phone release cycle with AT&T, not going to work. They are separate technologies on separate networks and Verizon has a slower cycle. The i760 and 6800 are both phones whose technology has been available from other carriers for the better part of a half a year. So if you want bleeding edge VZW is not the network for you. Also don't forget that it's not just the phone but the service, and AT&T still leaves a little to be desired.
Anyway, enough derailing.. trying to steer this back on topic
so if the i760 is out on B2B on monday, people who are b2c can still get it by calling a b2b rep right? isnt this how some people got the phone early?
No............some lucky folks were able to order due to a glitch in the VZW system that allowed the phone to be ordered, it seems everywhere EXCEPT for in the Northeast.

Read the last week's worth of post's and you will find all of your answers.
Did you have the SMS2000 text message feature on your plan, and if so, did it transfer?
Answered in PM, but in case anyone else was wondering -- yes, I have the PDA SMS 2000 and my rep transferred it for me since I was switching from my old $39.99/450 min + $45.00 data plan to the new $79.99 inclusive plan. Upgrading my phone did not affect my 2000 SMS option.

Hey! Don't forget us folks that think it's around the first of November! There are a FEW realists in here!

regardless, when the phone hits b2b, b2c customers can still get it, right?
