I hate to bite on a guy with one post as others have said, but what the hell...slow day at work.

So...the Mogul's BT Stack and utilization thereof is not up to par. We should file this under Mogul Reviews -- not i760 reviews. Or possibly [insert your BT headset brand here] reviews. I can say that with a Jabra BT headset and an i760 that call quality is as good (if not a bit better) than my Moto Q with the same headset.

Sorry to hear that pulling the stylus and sliding the keyboard out on the Mogul is a pain, but you'll be happy to know that it works great with the i760.

Awesome -- glad to hear that you dig the Pearl. Something definitely worth posting in a Mogul vs. BB Pearl thread.

Always good advice, regardless of the phone(s) in question. Though unless you happen to know one of the < 100 who picked up an i760 that may be a bit tough to do with that phone.

Couldn't agree more, but for the sake of devil's advocate, what is your "evidence"? The fact that the phone hasn't been released? If so, that's basically like saying the sun will never explode because it hasn't happened yet.

Of course you can't -- but again, what "evidence" do you have of something like this? I'd love to get some response but even if this mikebires is a hit-and-run poster, still loads of fun for a slow Thursday.
I have been looking through the thread and haven't found it (if it is in here, I apologize for the repost). But over at PDAPhoneHome one user said that the i760 doesn't have GPS? I thought it did. Just wanted to make sure it did because I was hoping to get software like iNavigator to give me turn by turn directions. Thanks
Quick question for those who have the phone: If it doesn't have IR, what does the pre-loaded "Remote Control" program use? I'm assuming it's similar to the program that was on the i730, where you could control your TV/VCR and whatnot using the device (more a fun little bit of "shiny" than an actually useful program, but I did think it had to use the IR, it's not like my TV is BT-capable!).
kveld3,
there is no gps chip in the i760. You can use a bluetooth gps puck though.
SixbySix,
I don't think any remote control program came with it. The people that got the phone already can correct me but I'm pretty sure I'm correct. The manual that had that information has a bucnh of inconsistancies.
OK, so chime in if you would like. I was told by a friend of mine that his cousion owned the Xv6700 and it had broke. Well Verizon told him they no longer carry that phone so they would ship him a replacement of a newer model. I was yelling at my friend until I was blue in the face that it could not be the I760. Well i got his cousin on the phone and he says it is. I am waiting for them to send me a pic of the phone he recieved.
So if they can ship it as a replacement, why can't they just offer the dam thing!?

Hold up. So it's possible that we could call FRU and see if they have an i760?

What "remote control" program? I don't have one loaded on my unit
How is the music player on it? Do you just play the music through media player or did verizon put their player on the phone?
How does it perform?
Thanks.
It's fine, uses WMP... works fine in background and does not stutter when I switch applications. Verizon did not put anything on the phone related to Verizon except for a couple of customizations to the phone settings, otherwise it's vanilla WM6
I have a question that I don't think anyone has asked you.
How is the screen readability in bright or dirrect sunlight? The downfall of most cell phone and PDA LCD screens is that they wash out or have very bad glare/reflection in bright sunlight.
It's generally very good.. now if it's an extremely sunny day it does darken the screen and it's harder to read - but that's common with all color LCD screens as you note above.
Perfectly bright and readable in normal lighting is 60% on the slider. 100% is rediculously bright (like on a blackberry when you press the power button twice to temporarily brighten the screen).
That said, there have been a couple of times where it was so sunny I had to cup my hand around the top of the phone to read it.
I have dealt with Treo's, i700, i730, XV6700 they were all this way pretty much

Ah, that answers it then. Sifting through earlier info, I had seen it listed as an "included" app and was wondering how they'd swung it. Thanks for checking!

I highly highly highly doubt this. Verizon may not sell a phone anymore, however they will have plenty refurbs in stock for a while. They would not risk having everyone who owns a 6700 cash in their insurance to get a newer 6800. Nope nope. Atleast...I think...correct me if Im wrong fellas!
I will confirm my story as soon as the S O B sends me pics of phone in hand. The story so far when I asked if he received the phone was that he got the box today from the Brown Truck opened it up and it was his original phone. There has to be more to the story so I will report back.
