I love this phone but i hate that it:
    -doesnt charge via usb
-is so hard to type on the top row of the QWERTY
-doesnt have predictive text on the front keypad

other than that it's awesome. But WHY DID VERIZON TAKE SO LONG TO RELEASE IT!?!?! We waited for this phone for months telling ourselves that they were just installing VZ crap on the phone but now that we have the damn thing, I dont see any VZ junk on there at all. So has anyone found out why VZ took so long to release this thing?

Also, can anyone point me in the right direction for Remote Desktop? Thanksss

Is this true? There's no predictive text using the front numeric keypad?

Not sure if anyone else feels the same about this as me, but the desktop charger/cradle doesnt charge without a charger (sold seperately). It comes with another data cable specifically for the cradle, but that doesnt help the charging issue. Seems like they are really trying to get you for every penny. 40 for the cradle, 30 for another charger. I'm glad I get my UPS discount in store.

So the cradle doesn't work with the current AC charger and doesn't come with its own AC power cord??? If so, what a flabbergasting gyp! Still, if I keep this phone, I will get at least one cradle, especially since it charges two batteries (both faster than one via USB) and it's nice that it also has a landscape rotation feature.
    Thanks, robrecht

Yes, this is true. It's the old style of texting where you have to hit the button several times to select a specific letter.

I'm having that problem too, have you found a solution yet?

I'm also having problems syncing my outlook calendar to my i760. I even tried coping my calendar file to an .ics file, opening it in Windows Calendar and tried to sync that..... still wont work. How are you guys doing it?

Does ActiveSync not work for you? That's what I'm using and I've got it syncing to my work PC and my PC at home, both running Outlook 2003.

I sync my calendar via EVDO off our Exchange server at work so that my laptop, our network, and my phone are always up to date.

Are you guys both using office 2003? I'm using office 2007. Thus far I haven't been able to sync MSWord or MSExcel files that are in office 2007 format (.docx and .xlsx). I have to convert to office 2003 before transferring them or else they dont work on windows mobile. Do you think I'm having the same issue with Calendar?

Considering WM6 was released after Office 2007, you'd think they'd set up WM6 to be able to read Office 2007 files....

I don't think running 2007 should be an issue with the ability to ActiveSync. Does your ActiveSync not work at all? And yes, I'm running Outlook 2003.

Maybe it could have something to do with how Microsoft did away with menus in Office 2007 and started using "ribbons"? I know a lot of the apps my company developed to run in Excel had to be rewritten to work properly with ribbons.

    Plans for i760

Just checking on this, maybe someone can confirm.

Want to order 2 i760's on a shared minutes plan, each though with unlimited data.

A chat rep today told me I in fact need to order 2 separate voice/data plans (for each phone) then to call customer care after I activate the phones and they will combine them onto a family share voice plan.

(he advised me to do this to ensure I qualify for all the discounts & rebates, otherwise I wouldnt get any)

He told me once I combine each phone onto a family voice plan, each data plan would be $44.99 per phone per month.

    Does this sound right?

He said to order them, port over my two existing numbers (im currently on cingular) all online.

Does this sound like something I want to do online? I just dont want to do something too complicated if they are going to screw it up.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeff
