Will this phone have built in GPS so that you can get current location on programs like Googlemaps, or Microsoft Live Search?

Don't worry, people are rilled up waiting for their phone, THE i760, so they get a bit touchy when your post doesn't contain the phrase i760 since they are hoping you are also including a release date for the i760.

The name calling is a bit harsh though.

Although, staying on topic your post helps me think that they *could* do it the same way as the 8830 and I thank you for putting that out there... i760

They don't use true GPS they use triangulating off the towers for their VZ Nav product. How this works if you loose signal I have no clue.

If you want to use a true GPS application on a PDA phone you need an external BT GPS adapter which can run around 70$.

You can then use any app you want, telenav, tomtom etc..

Would be nice if the i760 did either or!

Geez guys I told you everything on this device and the 6800 titan but noooo don't believe me. Release dates are hard to manage as the company keeps pushing them out and out. To address a few things: All VZW PDA's have OBEX.... every. single. one. On WM5 it was called "Beam" trust me, its there. The device is Rev A upgradeable. I have not gotten the ability to actually test the speeds tethered so I can't tell you if it will be launched that way. It will be launched soon. And as for the other thing the "iPhone" Alternative, vzw now has its reps pitching existing devices against the iPhone so they consider everything an iPhone alternative. Alright, there's my little blurb. Mike can get a hold of me if need be. And probably Sean as well as I posted here.

I guess it's both a good and bad thing that VZW monitors these forums... The good is that they realize their customers are concerned and informed. The bad is that they know how they have us in the palm of their hand!

Actually, by the sku, I think that's stock of the dummy -- not the real phone but the mock-up for displays.

not just that, but all the skus are accessories.. good sign though because we always get accessories in the stores before we get the actual devices.. the fact that there are 2300 i760 car chargers is a good sign, but usually there are closer to 40,000 in stock when a product launches.. but def a good sign!!
