i talked to a local AM at a corp store today, she said that the i760 and the xv6800 would be realease more than likely on the same day.....july 26th. i thought thursday was an odd release date, so maybe she meant the 27th,...who knows just keep a look out, i know i will.
My birthday is in 4 days and I was hoping to get this device. I'm selling my x51v and using the money to help purchase the device. Will I be able to play with this thing soon or could it be a new christmas present

has this AM previously given you info that has been proven to be reliable?
Below are a couple of links w/what may be old news to some, however I thought I'd share nonetheless. In any event, please forgive me if this is redundant. I'm not sure whether we ever knew if the i760 would have Wi-Fi or not, but the first link indicates it will not.
The second link shows an August release date for the phone (towards the middle of the page).

Can someone confirm this (I know, how on earth can we confirm specs about an un-released phone)? This is the first I've heard about the i760 not supporting Wi-Fi. If it doesn't, that's really unfortunate because that was one of the reasons why I was so interested in this phone. Of the three phones to be released, the Libra, the i760, and the 6800, I was under the impression that only the Libra would NOT have wi-fi.

yeah, ok, like I'm going to buy a PPC without wi-fi.....
Verizon's pic clearly shows WiFi (albeit "off" in the pic).
With data packages pretty much required and with all the data heavy uses the new phones can achieve it's a wonder why all phones don't have WiFi enabled if it's available. It would save a lot of the precious bandwith all the carriers are worried about losing ( unlimited, lol )

That first msmobiles link is weak. The premise of the article is based on the earlier vzw demo link. The pictures in the very demo it refers to show wi-fi (off). The photos are no longer available at the VZW link but still available here. Also this very early slide showed wi-fi 802.11b/g. I have come not to trust these little articles that come out and seem to just make stuff up.
Rep called. i760 release delayed again!
I'm on vacation this week and my corp rep knows that I have a bunch of lines at my company that need repleacement PDAs. He called me yesterday and told me the i760 release has been delayed again! He said possibley until December. He received a corporate e-mail describing the delay.
Don't shoot the messenger, just passing on the information I received. Take it for what it is worth.
I just noticed in the narratve of second link the indication that the i760 DOES have Wi-Fi. Well I guess the bottom line is this - We just won't know until this thing actually comes out, unfortunately!!!

He has later revised that message stating that a follow up communication indicated that December was a misprint, and should have said August.
I've been watching this and the 6800 release threads for several months and we aren't in the clear, yet... Still, PRAY HARD that VZW get's a clue and decides to release these things only 6-8 months after they needed to be released!
"Why do they torture me like this?!?! Why can't they leave me alone?!?!"
