FLint I just sold my x51v on Ebay for 293$ however I don't have nearly the amount of accessories you have. I got back almost everything I paid for it.
It's painful but I'm going to have to live with QVGA. I went from Palm's HVGA straight to VGA and I'm probably going to regret going back to QVGA. Only time will tell if my decision was a bad one

I remember a previous poster finding a chat link on the verizon wireless website. Well I signed on and started view phones and then went back to what I was doing (I'm at work) without closing the page. When I went back to it 30 minutes later the link magically appeared so accepted the invitation and talked to somebody named Natavia. According to him/her (I will assume ‘her’ because this still is the land of the free), there is no info available on the i760 yet...
........previous babble about what I want in a phone.......
Natavia: Have you viewed our Blackberyy devices?
You: I have. The 8830 is a nice phone which I will probably try if nothing new gets released in the near future. Have you heard any rumors about this phone - http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/0...verizons-site/ ? It used to be on the verizon wireless site but they have since removed it.
You: if you can't view the link, its the samsung i760
You: I think verizon might call it the samsung robin
You: it has the advantage of one handed typing for phone #'s which I strongly desire because its hard typing phone #s in the car while driving with any current pda offered by your company
Natavia: I will be right with you.
You: thank you for your time
Natavia: I'm reading the response.
Natavia: Give me just a moment.
You: no rush
You: i am also at work
Natavia: Great! It won't be long.
Natavia: I haven't heard any information on the Samsung i760.
You: hmmmm. I will just have to continue to wait for a little while longer. It's just that no current pda really fully appeals to me at this time. I have been available for upgrade since july of 06 and since then, no pda has fully offered what I desire. I am also really surprised that vzw hasn't offered any pdas except the 8830 sin the 700wx was released back in january.
.........more psycho babble about the Q and ignoring the fact that I hate mashed keyboards........
So needless to say, either her manager is standing over her back threatening to fire her if she responds in the positive, or she, like every other representative, knows nothing. There was like 5 minute delays between each of her responses so either she was trying to find info or just didn’t give a sh*t.
Either way, I sort of understand but don’t agree with the little information vzw releases to consumers. I personally would feel much more comfortable knowing what phones they are testing and desire to release, whether they actually get released or not. We KNEW AT&T was releasing the iphone well before its initial release. This gave Verizon customers time to plan on jumping ship so all those that were up for a VZW upgrade from Jan to July probably held off on upgrading. I have no doubt that if Verizon released something saying “hold on… we’re trying to release new phones shortly” around the same time, that some of those customers would have stayed with them (although many would have continued on the band wagon because the band wagon is all they know and rely on).
I am staying with VZW because I know they will get something decent released even if it’s 3 years since the product was first introduced to the market. They do have the best service which is my only necessity. If I lived and worked in a city 99% of the year, I’m sure ATT and Sprint would be viable options. However, I travel around the US infrequently but enough to enjoy service just about anywhere. I also enjoy service inside large building and atop of the ski slopes both of which my ATT buddies get no service for whatever reason.
The service is really the only thing they have going for them and as annoying as that may be, it is a HUGE benefit to the mass majority that live outside of cities where T-mobile, ATT, and even sprint have sort of forgot. You have to hand it to VZW for offering service and even EVDO to many rural areas where other phone companies are unheard of.
I am starting to think it had more to do with the Qualcomm issues? Sure, they may have been able to acquire them, but maybe they couldn't sell them until it got resolved?
Now that it is resolved, maybe things will move quicker and we might actually see something?
Keeping the faith, what little I have left...

At the very least, they can't use the Qualcomm issue as an exucse for delay now if they wanted to before.
Well, I've been waiting for the XV6800 but I might jump on the i760 if it comes out first - although the only thing I don't like about my XV6600 is the volatile RAM and the only thing I don't like about my Q is the poor alarms and lack of RAM vs my 6600 (seems about half). Both do A2DP stereo music and videos great off my 4gb SD cards, have good reception, and run all my 3rd party apps well.
is "Ethan" still sticking to the first week in august date? i really hope so. don't want to be stuck with this new chocolate 8550. although if i have to, i'll suck it up and wait another year and a half for the next generation of smartphones.
unless someone knows a way i can extend my contract with the new phone

The last quote from Ethan said that he had not heard any news lately, so the last thing he heard was still good for July. So I guess that leaves an opening for the possibilty of Aug/Sep and he just is unaware.
@anothervzwchick: any chance we can get some pictures of the chargers?
of course I see this request after work and before a day off... it's not that exciting, looks like any other vzw charger...

I had a conversation with a VZW rep today and she said that I can currently get the phone through telesales but I haven't called yet. Can anyone confirm this? Did she tell me something that she shouldn't have? Or is she just completely clueless?
I work at Best Buy (I'm young, not a loser), and I have a friend that works in wireless as our wireless expert. He's very close to and friends with the reps, especially Verizon.
He was at our local VZW store today with the rep he's most associated with and he saw live models of the i760, Libra, and xv6800 today. For him to be able to see them should mean that they're (at least 1 or 2 of them) are really close.
