    For what it's worth

    **Cross posted from 6800 thread**

I strolled into the Circuit City in San Bernardino, CA this morning to pick up some headphones. On my way into the store, I decided to stop and torture the VZW rep.

What follows is a loose transcript:

Me: I was wondering if VZW has any new PDA phones coming out soon.
Her: Actually, we do have a few on their way.
Me: The i760 and the 6800?
Her (laughing): Yeah. They're both pretty slick. I've seen and held live models of both of them.
Me: Do you know anything about when they're coming out? A couple of stores have started getting accessories.
Her: We've got accessories here too (she seemed to indicate she had received accessories for both phones). We were originally told August so I would expect them in the next two weeks. If not, Semptember 1st.
    Me: Ok cool, thanks.

She didn't seem to know much about the Libra. Maybe it's because I referred to it as the Libra and not by it's number.

Anyway, there's just some more speculation for you. But multiple places are starting to get accessories, so I'm assuming that they should drop soon.

Here is my response from the almighty VZW:

I have researched, and I too share an interest in the Samsung i760, and HTC 6800 model phones. There are indeed several wireless phones being tested for functionality and reliability with our network, however, I am unable to provide information regarding which equipment is being considered or approximate release dates. Unfortunately, this may raise expectations that may not be met. Verizon Wireless will not offer a product or service unless it meets the high standards our customers have come to expect. I hate it when companies treat consumers like they are totally uneducated on their industry. They try to make it sound like they know no more than we do...What a bunch of BS...

I don't know if they're insulting your intelligence so much as they are trying to tactfully tell you that they're not going to tell you what you want to know.

    More speculation....

Below you will find a link to an image taken from work. This image is from our website update source. This is for when there are going to be scheduled changes made to the VZW.com website. It shows that there will be a "redirect" for the samsung sch i760. Now before anyone asks (i know they will anyway), I have NO clue what RLP stands for (resource launch page???), just posting what i have!
