I didn't say anything about what the rep said about release dates, since it didn't really add anything.
She said she didn't know, but that when the dummies come out, it is usually within 2 weeks. She also thought that the 6800 and 760 should come out at the same time.
I am not going to believe anything until I see something from VZW.
i returned my chocolate yesterday and as i was telling the person that i was waiting for a "phone that has yet to come out," the clerk lady next to my person asked me which phone to which i replied, "the i760."
as soon as i said it she gave this smile/smirk like, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
My 2 cents - talked to the guys in my local (Winston Salem, NC) VZW store yesterday and was told the i760 and q9m would be out in 3 weeks. I then asked if it would be the end of August and he said early Sept. For what it's worth.....
How are they dumb asses? You don't realize that new phones are hyped way more on forums than in stores.
Because as a part of their job, they should be keeping themselve informed of their company, the products, and future products.
I'm the IT guy in my company and I could just about sell one of our lasers to a Dr because I keep myself informed of my companies' business and products.
Anybody who doesn't can be fairly called a *******.
Are we still sure the I760 is coming out after the 6800? I mean how many PDA users are going to go for the I760 with Rev 0 when you can get the 6800 with Rev A? Rev A is the upgrade, why would verizon release a Rev 0 phone AFTER a Rev A phone? I was all for the I760 over the 6800 until I heard the 6800 was going to support Rev A and had more memory.
VZW....where our motto is..."we will sell no phone before we've had a chance to cripple it!"

No, not 100%, But the 6800 rumors are pretty consistent on this Wednesday for B2B, and pretty much all we hear on the i760 now is "delayed until September".
And most people buy things for the looks. While the 6800 is a better device technologically, I think most people prefer the form factor of the i760, so I doubt there will be much trouble getting them sold in lieu of the 6800.
I just got off the phone with my rep and he said that if something was going to be released this week then he would know about it by now, so that says to me it will be at least another week or so.

I take it you have never tried to dial a number in bright sunlight - or listened to a voice mail then tried to save the message after the backlight timer went off and you can't see the number keys - hit the wrong spot on on the keyboard to get the light back and ended the call
The button dialpad and form factor make up for rev 0 and a little less memory - at least for this user.

Ones that are PDA users and not data plan users if the i760 meets their needs better than the 6800.
rev 0/rev A doesn't even make my compare list since I won't be using either.

As well as the ones who don't have EVDO in their city yet

Well form factor has sold me on the i760. Theres so many times where I take a 1800 number and Im not sure what number corresponds to what letter on my smartphone because it has a querty keyboard. So I have to look at my other phone just the see the letters on the number pad. Now with it built into the face of the phone it solves that problem, and about Rev. A How much faster could it be? I'm counting on a 8/15 release. I dont believe theres any delays. And if theyre are I will just pick up a 6800 and return it when the i760 comes out. I'm not letting Verizon play this little delay game with me. Come On Wednesday!!!!
