Why doesn't Verizon offer full html web browsing (like the N95)? With the screens being larger in size this should not be a problem. However everytime I ask VZW they tell me for security reasons (ie viruses). This just doesn't make any since to me.
Having fun playing with my new phone the Samsung SCH-i760

So download Opera. Problem solved right?

Reviewed the above site. Odd that there is no mention of WiFi nor the camera. Any thoughts? Also - I would wonder if we would have to hack through the block to use data line at same time as phone (as with the 6700). The width of the phone is notable.. I have been unimpressed with the standard battery life and always get an extended battery. The width mentioned of the phone is with a regular battery - Not that that has been much of an issue for me.. btw - I have a little charger that is pretty neat that i hope i can still use when the i760 comes out - put 4 AA batteries (rechargeable) and can use the phone for a long time for watching movies or using the slingbox I have... Pretty silly and annoying that we have to keep guessing on the release date for this... let's just wait until the official announcement is made and stop guessing.

Did you look at the second page talking about WiFi and the Camera?
Yep, I love Opera Mini Beta on my 6800. Problem is it requires Java Virtual Machine to operate which was on my 6800 as released but which VZW has gone to great links to leave off of its devices and make it difficult to install. Let us hope VZW includes JVM on the i760 and XV6800 when released.

Not sure what the difference is between Opera Mobile and Opera Mini, but I have Opera Mobile installed on my Treo 700wx and that did not require the JVM
Anyone know if the physical dimensions / size of the actual screen matches any other phones available? I ask because I'd like to purchase good screen protectors in advance seeing as this phone may even be released as early as next week!

Opera Mini is a smaller, faster version of the Opera Mobile browser with more features. Works almost exactly like the Safari on the iPhone, using a finger, zoom, etc. It does however require JVM to install. You can check it out on the operamini site.
From a quick review of the posts there seems to be some confusion regarding the dimensions of the i760. Thisconfusion was perpetuated by the errors on Samsung's pdf flyer.
According to multiple sites including Samung's site (http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d...VZW&fullspec=F)
the device is 19mm thick, 71mm wide, and 123mm long, which appears to be comparable to most pda's by HTC and other companies being produced.
The screen is 2.8 inches diagonal.
I hope this helpful.
I would like to echo my extreme disappointment in Verizon's poor pda-phone selection, practices that bring advancement to a snails pace (supposedly due to network integrity but likely due to profit maximization at the cost of the consumer - it is reminiscent of the car and oil industry), and releasing this phone 6 months too late. On a similar note, if you go to HTC's website I do not believe they even list a version of the vx6800 in their current lineup. It is on one of the back burner pages - Verizon's new release is old news for the rest of the mobile industry. I really hope the FCC and the 700Mhz band auction really shake things up.
