Hmm. Those are the dimensions listed at pdadb.net. However, mobileburn lists the i760 as 115mm x 50mm x 19mm. Not much difference, a little longer and a little narrower. I wonder which is correct. Still not any thinner than the 6800.
The reason I used the dimensions which are also on pdadb.net is because they were the same ones provided to me by two VZW stores who had been given the information by Sammy reps. Unfortunately the two Sammy reps could not agree on other features, but they did seem to agree on dimensions. That said, there is obviously a possibility the dimensions could change slightly by the release and I would not be terribly surprised. What would possibly help clear this up is the FCC info on the i760 which I do not have.
I went to the Verizon Upward Mobility Tour today in Anaheim, CA. which only happen once a year. It's a synposium for Verizon Customers and Vendors. I saw the Samsung i760 and also talked a samsung rep. he said the following things...
1. Samsung will not be out until August (Didn't know the date).
2. It's been on beta test mode for about 6 months now.
3. I will NOT be REV. A (none of the mobile phones are REV. A from what i heard).
4. It will be powered with WM6 (windows mobile 6 will release couple of weeks). This is what microsoft rep said.
5. I ask him about the price and he said he didn't know.
6. It's only CDMA base...no international capability
My account rep invited me...It's the first time I went to a verizon thingie...At the end...they gave away stuff...I won a PDA..woot woot..I don't know what am i going to do with it...I already have a PDA.
I went into my local verizon store like 2 days ago and they told me the delay for this phone was because it was getting additional things added to it to make it VCAST TV compatible...... anyone here of anything like this??? THANKS!
That would require additional hardware components which if true (very unlikely), would delay this for up to a year.
verizon held a employee fair thingy here about a few weeks ago. Saw and touched both the i760, the 6800 and the motorola Q9M. I already gave my impressions on the Q9M in that thread so I'll skip that. The internal word has the 6800 mid next month. As far as the i760 we are talking at least august. Neither will be rev a capable right away (could be software upgrade to enable sometime don't know). Both will launch with windows mobile 6 professional as it stands now. I liked the i760 better because of the dial pad on the outside. Both were nice and quick. Slick spring assisted sliders. The i760 is potentially launching with verizons user interface put into it (like the dumb phones have). Shudder I know. Only good thing to come out of it would be the ability to use get it now which means you could use vz navigator which some customers have been clamoring for gps on there pda's. Verizon heard your plea and figured they could nickel and dime the pda crowd now by sticking get it now on pda's. The i760 (as it stands now) will have get it now on it and be able to use vz navigator.

If what you say is true, then I will stay with my i730.
VZW, It's 2009! Time to embrace technology, not suppress it.
oops....too late I've ported over to AT$T

If that happened, I wouldn't even consider the phone anymore. If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that (at the very least) for all intents and purposes, the i760 under that scenario wouldn't be running Windows.
I can't imagine why they'd want to do that, but if they did - wow.

I bet the VZW stuff only will be the Phone part of it. It would not make sense if they disabled all of WM6 functions just to make users buy stuff from their VZW mobile web.
whoa whoa whoa your taking what i said and reading into it wrong. It is still windows mobile 6 professional and it is still fully functional. They are just doing what palm did to the windows mobile 5 platform (tweaked it to there liking) only its verizon doing there "tweaking" to the windows mobile 6....(possible bluetooth profile disabled...).
I shudder at the thought of VZWs UI on the 760. I'm praying the 6800 comes out next month. I'll probably wait for more reviews and see how much VZ cripples it (gotta love the hackers that get around that), but if all goes well I'm hoping to have this in my hands by end of July.
