I'm using BitPim 1.0.1.20070802 and bluetooth and it goes through the process of copying the files, the phone does it's reboot but then I look at the contacts and it's still empty. I have the phone in Bitpim set to VX9900, Read only in the settings is UNCHECKED. Am I missing something?

Can I do a "total reset" at home? If so, how?

I don't remember if thats a phone function or a qpst function, i do remember reading about it and being warned NOT to do it, if my memory is correct it wipes nam and number , and maybe ESN

its been a while since i read it.

sometimes old memories play tricks on you.

    A few questions.

    1) Can (if it becomes available on HOFO) I still use BitPim in NVEdit mode if using the v02 orange 9900 FW on a silver 9900?

    2) Is it possible to flash the orange 9900 v02 to a silver 9900?

    3) What new features and what features are removed from the orange v02 9900 FW?

BitPim works fine with any 9900 of any version.
There is no reason whatsoever to flash an orange enV with the silver firmware - it should work, but since there is no reason to do it, no one has tried it.

I am wanting to flash the orange V02 because of the EnV key (shortcut) being replaced for the Email key. And maybe some new themes, battery management, sound controls (eq), etc.
Although being the SAME v02 I would doubt any NEW improvements to the core system have been made.

batter management? sound controls? I'm not following. The themes are the same AFAIK, and I'm not aware of any battery management or EQ. Plus can't you already assign the enV key to the wireless sync email app?

I think the misunderstanding is here:

And in answer to that, it is believed that the Orange/Green firmware would work on the Silver enV, but no one knows for sure because the firmwares haven't been leaked to us yet for anyone to try.

Ah ... I'm usually so good at "post parsing" - not sure how I misunderstood that one.

I guess I need to post my questions better.

I'm hoping that the orange 9900 FW can be used on the silver 9900 once it is leaked out to HO-FO!!

As far as battery management, eq, etc. I figured that that the orange v02 would have some SW updates that the current silver 9900 v02 does not have. Hopefully that clears it up.

Yes, I understand now. That is what all of us with the silver are hoping - and we assume the softwares are interchangeable. But I don't think there is any real difference except for the button. I was under the impression that they based the orange V02 on the silver V02. The orange came out almost immediately after the silver V02 was released - so whatever bug fixes the incorporated into the silver they also did in the orange (or vice versa).

Hey all, I did the upgrade to 02, no issues. Bought the 4GB card, worked, no issues. I tried out a new phone for a couple weeks, went back to my ENV, and now I cannot save to the card. Phone states it is full, although the phone displays over 3GB free. My question is this, would the *228 programming I had to do when I switched back the ENV have wiped out the V02 somehow? And, does any one know if reinstalling the V02 would fix it. I think that is what I am going to try ultimately, but wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Also, I know there is a post for it elsewhere, but has anyone heard of when the new firmware might be coming out for the env? Thanks
