Come and get it.. V03 for VX8600

Here's the 8600 V03 upgrade. For instructions on how to upgrade your phone, please use the search feature. I had almost 20 PMs of pretty much that message.. I do not have a change log for this

I added it to my humpa.com/vzw page.
And here's what I paste when someone asks me about upgrading their firmware. And this also covers the question of using NV Edit mode so you can use BitPim, assuming they replace all the occurances of "8500" with "8600" (or 9900, or whatever phone they have).

That is the best flashing guide.

But you don't have to flash. You can use BitPim if you first launch LG Download and put it in NV Edit Mode.
You need to use the latest version of the DLL for the 8500.
For putting LG Downloadin NV Edid mode (DM mode), use this guide:
    http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=981424

And for installing the DLL, use this guide:
    http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=981424

And for the latest DLL, go to my humpa.com/vzw page as always (the higher the number, the newer the DLL). The newest DLL is the one you want, which is the 2.47 DLL for the 8500.

It is much harder to read thru and learn everything, and acquire the software and get it working, than it is to actually perform the operations when you are finally ready.

I'm going for it. I just have to wait for Bitpim to finish backing up all of the files on the phone. I have a lot that I don't want to chance losing. I'll post any changes that I find.

EDIT: FLASH SUCCESSFUL! The only change that I've noticed so far is that the Service Menu (Menu - 0 - 000000) is no longer accessible. Hmmm... I wonder if there is a way to get it back. Unexpectedly, I can still access the file system in bitpim. I'll post updates as I find them...

EDIT 2: My "backed up" VZ Navigator seems to work just fine still without a hitch. I was expecting to have to re-download it.

    Open fip, dial ##PROGRAM8600 send
That might work, since the VX8700 is ##PROGRAM8700

I wonder why they changed it on the 8600 but not on the 9900.

The only thing i'm really curious about is if the speaker phone volume was adjusted. Could someone test this?
