well this is suppose to be FULLY "CUSTOMIZABLE" you cant customize the alerts for texts. also when you slide the the ocean open/close, you should be able to customize the sound, like the sidekick3.

Sliding open the phone, either way, takes a while for it to show the screen (if i want to check the time it takes several seconds to load) maybe not a bug but slightly annoying.

if it drops from the 3G into 1x or less, the whole device freezes up and then reconnects to the 3g.

With my phone, if it drops from 3g to 1x/roaming, and i move back into an area i KNOW has 3g, it doesn't shift over until i restart the phone. lameOriginally Posted by OREOcean
I CANNOT turn off the email alerts, regardless of how "notify new email"is checked for windows live email. I've since reset the box and am not using it atm.
Music player - why so long on "initializing list" everytime? Shuffle feature sucks. Why play the same song on first track when I "play all" even when shuffled?

When you are typing and pull up the emoticons *pressing symbol twice* the :-3 is listed as * and the :-\ is listed as # but you get the opposite symbol when you select by pressing the * or #... I have the same sw version as listed in previous posts D0810HEP03_2.160

after sliding the ocean close. the screen naturally turns off to black. but i noticed at night time... in the dark. 3 seconds after it slides closed and the screen turning off, the screen relights the BLACK BACKGROUND.
when it goes from landscape to slide closed
portrait nothing...

Where's the dialtone?
Here are a few bugs that I have encountered along with a few general complaints.
Bugs:
1. If you set the keypad tone to "tick" in sounds and accidentally press a button, like the camera button, in a call it then causes feedback for the person on the other end of the call. They keep hearing themselves talk. It happens the worst with this sound for whatever reason. I know that sounds crazy, but try it.
2. Fix the number dialing lag. I find myself trying to type a number but it missed the second or third number because the phone was lagging.
3. White screen in the browser. I find that clearing the cache and restarting the browser fixes this issue, but it should not even be happening at all.
Complaints:
1. Make sure I stay logged in while in AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. It is annoying when the device has to lag just to log me back in. This makes the device unreliable as a messaging device because I have to log in to get my messages, and then I am flooded with alerts. You might as well just send me an e-mail.
2. Let us install ring tones without having to "hack" them into our phones. Why can't we just copy them on?
I know there are more, but you guys have got all the ones I can think of for now...

You can change the sound to others preloaded onto the phone, just not custom ones. It's in the sound effect menu.
Actually, that's your phone doing a kind of soft reset. It reinitializes all the components right after the screen goes black and comes back on (Signal, 1X then 3G, and bluetooth). I don't think it's caused by the phone losing signal.
Yeah I'm going to add this to the list since it seems to be an increasingly common issue.
This is a common characteristic of Helio's music player. The drift does this as well.
Thank you for clarifying that for me. It's going on the list! I originally thought they meant they were trying to select the symbols (*) and (#) themselves.
1. I'll have to investigate this further as I was unable to duplicate this occurance on my own Ocean. I'll try a few others once I get to work.
2. Yes, number dialing sucks as does T9 and pretty much anything else in portrait mode using the number pad. Makes it sort of a moot point to have.

1. I agree 1000000% on this. This is also the #1 reason why the Sidekick beats the Ocean hands down for an instant messaging device.
2. For all we know, this is a loophole that will be fixed if they do the update so you HAVE to buy their ringtones.
UPDATE
- A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth) Volume is way too low
- Device locks-up 20-30 seconds while updating contact list in AIM.
- When listening to music, you can surf. When you go to surf, the sidekeys to switch songs or play/pause music are disabled/don't work.
- Camera resolution reverts to 320x240 when in portrait mode but does not return to previously selected and saved option of 1600x1200 (2MP)
- Playing Videos in Vibrate mode changes the Vibrate setting to previous volume level
- Switching from Vibrate to Ring in Landscape mode does not save the setting change properly
- Silent mode does not silence all sounds
- Web Browser "breaks" and will only display a blank white screen. Deleting the History, Cache, Cookies as well as unticking Auto-Complete usually fixes this problem. (Others have had to do a hard reset, others had to replace their device)
- While typing a message in landscape mode, bringing up the Symbol menu, and hitting (*) on the QWERTY keypad you get the symbol of whatever was assigned to the (#) key instead and vice versa. NOTE: This applies to text messaging only
- Instant Messaging does not keep you logged in (reliably) throughout the day. At times will show you are signed on, but then after sending an IM you are redirected to the Signing On screen.
- In photo album, Checking multiple images then hitting Email does not attach all selected images to the new Email message. Only the first one.

When using the music player, and you have your phone on vibrate mode - there should be a way to KEEP the phone on vibrate mode and STILL be able to listen to music (is there? Am I missing something?) There needs to be more independant sound profiles on this phone.

I've climbed a cellphone tower
you can't view the symbols list in myspace mobile.... don't know about other apps, and i don't know if this is a bug. although i'd assume it is, since well, pressing the symbol button does not bring up the symbol list.
this just means i can't put any = signs in my posts/comments/messages. =\!

Pressing the Right Softkey a few times will bring up the symbol list. They should map that same key to the Sym key on the keyboard though. It's still beta, so we'll see. Also in the Myspace app, when you're viewing another person's page you're suppose to be able to hit (*) to return home, but that only works in portrait mode.
In any event, this isn't a Myspace app bug list
