i dont know if this is just for my device and no one elses but, whenver i go to aim, and i am in the "buddies" (buddy list) section, no matter what i do, it will automatically move down towards the middle of my "offline" buddies. i dont understand why it does this, and at first i thought it was just lag from me clicking down a couple times too many, then i tested it without hitting anything, and it still happened.

Mine does that too, occasionally. Seems to happen mostly the first time that I sign on to AIM. It's quite annoying. There's a certain lag before this happens too.

that haoppens to me too. besides the fact that my device is lagging/freezing for a good 20 seconds or more whenever i touch aim after not using it for a while.

Yep, that's definitely an issue on all Oceans. It's very annoying, I noticed this when I first got mine.

Now, before my entire buddy list loads, I always go down to offline buddies and close the group so I don't have that problem.

The whole AIM app sucks anyway, it really needs some help. I hope they update it with the rest of the OS.

yea i do the same thing. it still brings me down to the "offline buddies" but it's better than scolling up 2 miles.
The AIM App. would be much better if that automatic scroll-down bug didnt happen, there wasnt as much lag, and if you can customize your aim alert tone.

I know this thread has gotten long and unwieldy, but I wanted to add my own hot list, since a lot of them aren't covered here already:

    * When Bluetooth power is on, my only options are bluetooth and speaker. this is partly because I think i have a cheap bluetooth, but when it's windy outside, the caller on the other end gets bad sound quality so i want to switch to the wired headset or the handset, but my only option is speaker or end the call and start a new one with my preferred thing.
    * Low battery warning is intrusive. If I am am streaming video, it sends me back two pages. I've noticed it is heavy handed in interfering elsewhere as well.
    * Gmail dumps all my mail (including sent) into my Inbox
    * Can't access my secure IMAP server at work
    * Can't access my bank's website for security reasons (I guess that may be covered in the more general browser just plain sucks issue)
    * Can't click through links in Gmail messages
    * I HATE the Google Mobilizer and want an option to disable this

I think those are my biggies

If you plug in the wired handset (I just purchased one from LG which has a better and higher quality), then the VOICE MEMO button becomes unlocked.

When you download a picture from the internet it can only be saved as a "Screen" or an "Email item" Then I go to MMS and I can't select pictures from the "Screen" menu only my albums and there is no way to move pictures from "Screens" to "Snap"

it can barely handle fast typing. in fact, it doesn't. you have to type slow if you want everything you type to be there! on top of that, it shouldnt have to have the entire device lockup to just update your buddylist. ON TOP OF ALL THIS, IT SUPPORTS INIVISIBLE MODE YET DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO TALK TO OFFLINE BUDDIES!!!!!!! I just seriously wonder what went on during development sometimes.

I guess so, although I havent had too much of a problem with typing too fast.. only using my thumbs isnt exactly 1000wpm. I agree with the bad refresh time.

Jeeze... you really feel strongly about not being able to talk to offlines o.o;; that doesn't matter to me though. If someone's offline then AIM is the least efficient way of getting in touch with them besides maybe myspace commenting.

Well anyways.. wether or not offline chatting is important to you, I think we can all still agree that the Ocean IM clients in general(which was what I was originally commenting on) are a lot better than the iphones non-existant except through the browser ichat.

Yeah, it's better than not having IM at all, i suppose. I can type pretty fast with my thumbs though-- I come from the sidekick series. haha. But really, why would you allow your OWN device to go online in an invisible mode, and then not allow you to talk to say, other friends signed on ocean's as invisible. duuuumb!

ok, what you need to do is do a master reset on the phone. this happened to one of mine, and that is what fixed it. keep in mind that when you do this master reset, you are clearing everything frome the phones memory!! back up your contacts anything and everything. you WILL lose your two ringtones....big whoop!! if you need the instruction to do this, lemme know and i can help you out with that.

    Thanks

OOOH I didnt even think about other people being invisible.. I thought you were angry that it didn't let you send messages to people that were really offline. Yeah, that is dumb =/
