    5.99 T-Zones with EDGE?

Hello, I have been using t-zones 5.99 plan for GPRS for a few years now and it works great for internet, but I have never had an EDGE enabled phone.
Also i have been trying to search for t-mobiles edge coverage map but cant really find it, does EDGE cover basically the same as GSM coverage?

So those of you who have the t-zone plan and EDGE, are you able to use edge on the plan? how much faster is it? does it work with k790a?

any and all input is helpful, also give your location too.

    thanks!

Edge coverage is not everywhere where T-Mobile coverage has GSM coverage. Also, if you roam a lot, you won't have any Edge. If you live in a major metro area, it shouldn't really be a problem. Yes, edge is considerbly quicker then GPRS. On my N73, you can browse full web pages on the $5.99 plan. You should be able to do it with the K790. You'll burn your minutes using it though. I do most of my browsing after 9 pm and on weekends.

You burn minutes on the $5.99 plan whether you're accessing the web using GPRS or Edge.

Wait a minute, since when does using T-zones burn minutes? Are you sure about that?

I retract what I said. After I looked at the details of my bill, I see that it does not burn minutes. I have to keep telling myself I'm not with Verizon anymore who took your minutes when browsing. Sorry for the booboo.

depending on your situation, you might still have port 80 access - its used to visit full blown html sites and for programs such as google maps and opera mini - here in chicago, im on the 4.99 plan (same as the 5.99 plan) - and i still have access to all of my programs (wayfinder, google maps, opera mini, gmail, etc)

in that case, i do indeed still have it.

I live in DC area, but my phone plan/# is from upstate N. does it matter where you live or where you are activated for this? I have heard of people losing their full internet on the $5.99 plan, but i've never had any problems
