    Texting with the 6700

Ok I like text quite a bit and there are times I want to text one handed. So my question is, does anybody know if there is a simple way to text without using the keyboard? I am thinking about buying this phone but if its hard to text one handed with it I'm not sure if it's the one for me.

This phone will not be easy to text one handed. It can be done but not nearly as quick as say a blackberry or motorola q.

Do you have to use a little qwerty keyboard that pops up on the bottom of the screen or is there another way?

you can use the slide out keyboard. Or you can use the touchscreen. While using the touchscreen you have the choice of several different input methods. You can use the typwriter type interface, but the letters are small and you would have to use the stylus. You could never do this one handed.
you can also select what is called a "phone pad" keyboard which is essentianly a touch screen phone keyboard. I think this option would be your best bet for one handed texting on this phone. On the phone pad you can choose different input methods such as "t9","123" which is numbers only, "abc" letters only just like normal texting. This would be the option you would use.
There are other options like handwriting recongnition but you could not do this one handed.

I do not text one handed. I do however use the phone one handed for several other things.

Oh ok. Well I'm sure one handed texting could be learned, it might just feel awkward at first though. But if done enough I'm sure it will become second nature just like when I first started to text.

I can't decide if I want to buy now or wait it out until the 6800 comes though.
