Hey Now, lets be totally honest, the RAZR at $500 did not have all those features. Surely not even video recording because I had to flash mine months later to get that. (using PSD Lite and a very clunky method that destroyed other things but I won't go in to now)
s.
And while being honest, let's remember how many years ago the razr came out, and how the technology compared hardware wise to current phones out there at that time. I would say the price of the razr had more to do with it's thin uniqueness then with its standard ui.

Anything is better then vista, not a fair comparison
Personally I think the iPhones better features such as the improved touchscreen etc will inspire the other manufacturers to make the move to add these things to their models and let us catch up with other countries like Japan who have some cellphones that are just amazing in comparison to most N/A models. Or so I hope it helps make that push.

I also think it will increase the demand for other phones or devices that can connect to the internet faster and provide more features. If their sales forecasts are met, the iPhone will introduce a whole lot of people to the wireless internet.
Sure it has been around for years but most casual users could or would not justify the hardware and service plan expense required to connect proper. The carriers themselves screwed that pooch with their nickle and dime metered access and confusing plans... With the iPhone Mom and Pop will begin using the net daily. Once that happens more will justify further expense.
you gotta be kidding me...
Sega was massively in debt when they launched Dreamcast and due to piracy and competitors (Sony Playstation), with the addition of crap games then Dreamcast met its demise...
Apple is not massively in debt... they have other departments to get revenue from... (iPods). I think as a 1st gen phone, Apple is playing it safe but in my opinion it is TOO SAFE... they should just include some basic features which presents on 4 years old phones... overall though they have a great ground to work on and i do believe new iteration of iPhone will be a good device
btw your sig explains what type of person you are
good thing you don't know me inperson ...... mod edit
anyways.....Steve put his foot in his mouth promoting this plain but flashy UI phone.....he quoted it as being far beyond any device out there....i think most smartphones are far beyond the iPhone ..... compared feature to feature with most smartphones the iPhone falls short in 90% of the comparisons

meh 3g is honestly pointless right now...the us isn't ready... and the standards aren't consistent across the board... there is no quad 3g chip in use right now...
itunes does the converting for you right? so it's a non issue... since you need to use it for sync anyways...
every phone has it's defualt file types...
for example...s60 uses mp4, 3gp and rm for video, unless you add 3rd party..
But u have the option thats key
Know The Truth and the Truth will set u free.

i do agree with you in the 2nd part... he did mention that iPhone will be "Smarter" and "Easier"... while it's definitely easier it's not smarter
btw i am nobody's B**CH kk :P
In Steve Job's intro of the iPhone he had visuals comparing it to the Treo and other WM devices, and stated explicitly that it would revolutionize the smart phone market.
He didn't say this is best for people who never had a smart phone.
Quit defending Apple and making up BS to apologize for the iPhone.
Yes thats right, as a matter of fact he called the the so called smartphones i think, that they really werent very smart, he didnt have a razr, samsung sync, or w810 up there.
Everyone keeps getting wrapped into comparing it with the advanced functions of other smartphones of every flavor.
Let's pretend Jobs didn't compare it to any of them for 5 minutes. Take out anything from my list that has to do with advanced smartphone functions and leave in the ones that are something everyone can do with any phone. There are still TONS missing.
I don't expect the average consumer to complain about not being able to edit Office documents or even have a very structured file organization system with a task manager, but the common things like MMS, voice dialing, and speed dialing (to name a few) not being present should be enough to cut through the BS and show the iPhone for what it really is. This is especially present when people start to see how it actually takes longer to dial a contact or write a quick message, but people are still sucked in by the hype of the multi-touch and coverflow.
I don't expect everyone to be as seasoned as a lot of the members of this board, but even the most basic user is missing out on several common features the iPhone lacks.
I think JonnyBruha has some very vaild points. I thank him for his honest opinion. We need more people who actually own an iPhone or have spent more than 15 minutes playing with one on display at an Apple store to give their HONEST, UNBIASED opinion. Pro or con we need to know.
I welcome as many reviews/impressions as I can get.

this makes sense... the funny thing about me is that i never use... voice dialing, or speed dialing... and also hate going through the phonebook... i like to dial numbers still lol
but seriously i think voice dialing would be a great component in the iphone...

It's fun to make outrageous statements while providing absolutely no basis for those statements, fact or otherwise, isn't it?
