The only way I see that working if that DRM song you purchased would cost $.99 to convert. Any other songs you have in your iTunes better damn well convert for free, what if you already paid for the CD? That would be as bad as verizon crippling the bluetooth before (don't know if they still do)
Has AT&T ever crippled a phone like that before?
That's very probable indeed...
Regarding AT&T, i never... EVER used locked and subsidized phone... I always import phones from overseas (yes i'm not from US and i can't stand the lack of features that many phones here have)
Its funny how most of the things you justify "maybe in the future" or "I can use my computer" so what are you paying 600$ lol not bashing the IPhone (yet) but your response wasnt a good one at all. From what you said you can still use your old phones, with out paying the LARGE price tag lol.
If I were to apply that logic then most of the stuff I own would be moot. I wouldn't own a PS3 because the XB360 is cheaper. I wouldn't own a Thinkpad T60 or MBP because a Gateway works and costs less. My 65" HD TV is a waste because a 27" CRT works just fine. Whoops I really messed up when I traded in my S2000 for a Boxster S. Get my point?

how can a PRICE for a ring tone even be justifiable? its NOT the full song, its more like a sample, so for the websites that let you preview 30 seconds of a song before buying it (i think even itunes lets you do this) should you pay $1? then pay another dollar to buy it? this is rediculous, even more so when you have to pay AGAIN to convert your exsisting already bought mp3 for more money.

uhh the S2200 *if you got the 2.2L version* is actaully on par with a boxster S on the track for cheaper
I saw a statistic the other day that just blew my mind. Carriers make a huge chunk of their profits from ring tones. That's just crazy. Hey I like cool ring tones like the rest of us, but come on $2 - $3 a pop is just silly.
Lets be real every company charges for ringtones! Up to something like $2.50!
But **** you already own or pirated should be free to use as a ringtone I agree.

I owned PS3 because I need some games which are not available for 360... (example: Final Fantasy series)
what can iPhone do that other phones can't?? Multi-Touch?? Cover Flow?? that's all... I can get way cheaper phones which can do all other features and MORE to make up for the lost of Multi touch and cover flow
I owned Macbook Pro and not Gateway because it's superior in many ways and I do play occasional games on my laptop.. obviously with crappy 500 bucks laptop you won't be able to play most games
I owned 37" HDTV because I can watch HD Programming on it whereas my SDTV cannot. Well, SDTV can't display HD Content
the point is not to buy something cheaper but if that cheaper thing can do MOST of the features which the more expensive device has, why bother?
i love seeing X-s60 users using iphones lol lol lol

the point of the iphone is to make calls, play music, video and surf if it does those things well then i think apple has done it's job.... its suppose to be basic and only hardcore phone users would want otherwise....
although i think some of the functions they've left out are definitely attempts to keep control and keep it dumb
Resistance is Futile! get the nokia n8 housing for your iphone lol

I actually had an 2000 S2000. That was obviously the first year they were intro'd and people were paying out the azz for the cars. I bought mine in Dallas for sticker. I could have turned around and flat-bed trailered it to Florida or Cali and made $10K easy. And yes the S2K was quick but you had to drive it like you stole it to go fast. It was pretty cool when V-Tech kicked in. The Porsche was a totally different beast. It went fast with much less effort.
Why does everyone have so much fun poo pooing on what others like, if someone wants to blow $600 on an iPhone let them, we can wait till it is worth it or it drops in price! Let them be...
My friend always says "man you paid HOW MUCH for an HDTV?" "HAHA the picture is nice but HOW MUCH?? There is barely any channels" Just let me be because I like it and you cra*p on it makes you look like an a-hole. Now that I got my blue-ray player I have a ton of content and am VERY happy I want with 1080p which everyone told me was a waste too.

To put it in your perspective, It is a very expensive Basic phone then... Meh... compared to other phones in the US (From carriers... not imports) iPhone is really good but if you already experienced the technology from the other side of the world, iPhone is... meh

If you looked at my phone list, I listed 4 phones which I am thinking of buying (yes I am on my semi-annual phone purchasing period) and iPhone is one of them actually... I am staying around here to check any features and early reviews from early adopters of iPhones However, the initial reviews have been disappointing
I would give it a few months if you can because you would be severely unhappy with it for your needs (same as I would be) as it is. If you wait until next years model you may be a happier and actually find it useful.
and all toghether it will be the samething, with alot more customization, I personally prefer a phone that I can modify. Will lets see if comming weeks what would people say about the IPhone was it worth it or not. I want to see how much market share it will take and how many windows mobile users will switch.
