Can someone help a little with my smiley? I'm trying to soften up the noise and remove the black from the top and the bottom.

This is what I started with

This is where I'm at (which I feel like I ruined it). Also would love if someone could make that curved shine like the iPhone icons have.

any help or tips would be appreciated. I'm using PhotoFiltre.
