It isn't my beta, that is simply BitPim's beta page.
We've been discussing that for over a week since eno posted that they released a new beta.

And it doesn't sound like he used BitPim, it sounded like he meant that Verizon did it for him.

For more info on BitPim, eno is the guru and he posts in this thread (and others):

I didn't mean it was yours. I just meant that you have been the one telling me about it recently, and I'm sorry I haven't gotten to play with it yet. It would be a miracle if the vzw guys did it. They told me some crap about not even having the right software to switch yet. I knew it was a load, but hey. They wouldn't even print them for me... I told them I wouldn't have access to my laptop for 12 hours or so and no dice.

I am sure they don't have the software yet. That sounds about right - this happens with every single new phone that comes out, and many of the people that get it the first couple of days (or longer).

But what they may not know is that the 8500 software will probably work fine for loading the software - though perhaps the software detects the phone and won't function unless it actually supports that exact phone model.

EDIT: most of us now simply use the free Backup Assitant Get It Now app, that way we never have to worry about our phonebooks again when switching phones.

That is true, and I'm a full supporter of it... It's ALSO one of those things that I just never got around to simply because I had bitpim that worked great with my v3.

Yeah, I was talking about the VZW guys doing it for me. Does the 8500 USB cable work for the 8550?

Does anyone know if the VX8550 supports the MicroSDHC cards? I have seen articals that the HC cards are made for phones but I cannot find anywhere if the 8550 will support one or not.

    Thanks in advance.

That is my problem I found a 4BG MicroSDHC card for $50, but I'm not convinced it will work.

I bet it works. It works on the LG's that came out before the 8550.

I heard T-mobile just got the rights to the chocolate. They will be getting it the first week of august. So does that mean that they will also have the rights to the newly released chocolate version? Does anyone know if they will have the same colors as the first chocolate? I like the strawberry color.

can someone who bought the phone today confirm what price they paid? it seems awful inexpensive if the new choco and the 2gb music kit is $150 after rebate (but before NE2)

I'm thinking about buying one at retail $350, but with the heavy discounting they are doing with it, it seems like it "cheapens" it. (kind of like how the perceived cheapening of US domestic cars who give rebates/incentives out like there's no tommorow) But then again, i'm probably just bitter because i don't qualify for NE2 until 1 year from now. :-P

This is the Verizon forums, we specialize in Verizon.
For TMobile info you'd need to query the TMobile forum..
.. or even the main LG forum.

A few people have already confirmed that price. The circuitcity link confirms it as well.
