i think European T-mobile has the chocolate. where did you get the info? random forum posts by someone overhearing a verizon employee rarely turn out to be true.

besides. there a couple fishy things about the claim.

1. chocolate is cdma in north america
2. fcc would have to approve it first, and way in advance.

I just saw the thread for putting vids on the enV are you able to do this on the older chocolate? Sorry for the OT post. I just didn't know where to put it.

T-mobile may have right's to the GSM chocolate (Ver.2 or Ver.1), but that phone has the same concept but a different layout (including no scroll).

You didnt have back-up assistant installed? Its free and you dont have to hassle the idiots at VZW.

No backup asst, and I explained why.

I can confirm that I only paid 100 bones for it. I did an annual upgrade to buy the 8500 (online instand discount = $100), then went into the store and they exchanged it for me.. They even honored the instant rebate, I figured I'd have to shell out $50. You can buy this at promo for $100, or the 8500 for $70.

Humpa, that new bitpim does NOT work. I couldn't even copy my phonebook over without it denying me. What's even weirder, when I was denied, it dialed some random digits and then went back to the home screen.

Did I link you to that thread, or did I just link the sourceforge page?

You guys should post in this thread so that eno and the BitPim crew can get it working with the 8550. It may be a simple fix. Post what happened in the following thead, and eno should respond:

Seems everyone is talking about the design a lot. I haven't seen much talk about the actual call quality or reception or anything of the sort. Is it assumed to be the same as the original chocolate?
