Ok I have tried everything to get to the service menu..and ive finally found
one way to get to it by pressing ##TEST (##8378)
and the password isnt 000000..so im wondering if anyone knows the new
code? ive look around everywhere for it but cant find it.
and yes im sort of a noob at this..thank u
one other thing im using telus if that means anything to anybody to help me with this problem
on both my LG phones (ax8600 and vx8500) i jsut hit menu and then hit 0000000 to get into that menu
yah i know thats an older way but on the newer phones they have blocked that and to get to the serivce menu on mine u need to go ##test i just need the code for doing it that way lol..i tried 000000 and its not that
i don't know the code
but i'm saying this so that you can avoid some misunderstandings
the vx8600 is for verizon
the telus 8600 is for telus
vx means verizon
so when you identify your phone, don't add the vx
i'll do some searching
i'll post back if i find the code
alright thanks for letting me know about that
I used bitpim to find my service codes as jtang613 posted here:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=9483033 Post#13
I saw on another thread that it was ##77647268600 then press send . Then enter 000000 hope this works for you.
Yep... the older phones used Menu "0", the newer ones use ##77647268600, similar to the 8700. This is easier to remember if you spell it outlike this...
##7764726...8600
##program...8600

I wonder if this is true for Telus version of the phone, which is what this thread seems to be about. Also, it seems that the original poster found a way to get to the service menu (via ##TEST/##8378), just that the service code 000000 doesn't seem to work.Originally Posted by T-5
No it doesnt appear to work on my Telus one. That is why I posted the link earlier to use Bitpim to find your service codes. The ##Debug one is 183729 but for the others I had to use my own service code.
##Debug
##Telus
##Browser
##Test
##Data
##RTM
Open the file (Hex dump) /nvm/nvm/nvm_0000 and you will see two sets of numbers. Try them both.
Sometimes Bitpim has trouble accessing the /nvm folder.
The solution:
1. Open Bitpim
2. Select 'Get Phone Data' from Bitpim's Data menu
3. Select 'Phone Book', click OK.
4. You *will* receive a Bitpim exception. This is OK.
5. Navigate to the Bitpim 'Filesystem' tool. Right-click and 'Refresh'
6. The /nvm folder should now be accessible.
I just got my 8600 from verizon. I tried the menu and ##program8600 and nothing happened. Did I do it wrong, or is there another trick?
Try Menu > hit "0" > Service Code "000000"

lol wut?
just hit ok then press 0
Who's leg do have to hump to get a dry martini around here
I tried both methods. Nothing worked.
