This method for getting to the Service Method only works on the Verizon firmware.Originally Posted by nedyrb
For Telus phones, I'd try the Telus forum and see if they know how to access the Service Menu.

EV-DO is just a faster way of transmitting data, with it being disabled data will simply be transfered slower (via 1X), but it's still being transferred no matter what.Originally Posted by rok.d..bars

ok i will do everything needed but after like a week or so, it will reset the original settings by it's self. I do not upgrade it or reset the phone settings. What do you think is going on? How can i stop it?
if your paramtable1.fil is reseting back to factory, we don't know why that happens to some people.Originally Posted by mkolinko
The most popular guess was that it happens when you launch the browser and it fails to connect - like possibly if it fails to connect twice in a row then the phone is progammed to reload the paramtable1.fil.
But we just don't know - some of us have never had it happen, some have had it happen once, and some have had it happen frequently. And we've seen it on pretty much all the LG's. Though it isn't very common.
So, to keep it from disrupting your Mobile Web viewing, get the actual Mobile Web service and it won't happen again.![]()
I know everyone's been saying this, but I'm gonna say it again. I've done everything that 's been suggested. I've changed everything everywhere using BitPim and others, but everytime I try to go on the Mobile Web, it just says "Error: Required content 'humpa.com/homepage' cannot be accessed. You do not have access to the site." I've changed it to wap.google.com and no luck with that. Yes, I did add the http://, I've edited the paramtable1 file as well, I changed the WAP settings, and I downloaded humpa's version of the file and put it on, but nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong?
Can you access Get It Now and browse that content?Originally Posted by pyroxp2
If not, then data isn't configured correctly on your account - call 611.
Assuming your data is working, what's the WAP proxy server you are using and what's the homepage?Originally Posted by pyroxp2
OK! I've read every post in this thread and I'm ready to give it a try. I just have one question. Will I be charge for data, or just minutes?![]()
Nationwide plans: data is $1.99/mbOriginally Posted by IMQwerty

It was a joke. Obviously, not a good one!Originally Posted by Humpa
I changed the WAP settings and it's working great. Thanks. So...I have a Nationwide Select plan, which says it includes 'Access to Mobile Web 2.0.' According to the ^, I pay $1.99/mb then. So, changing the settings according to this will not give you free internet access? I thought it did.

On the Nationwide plans, data is $1.99/mb unless you have the $15 VCast since that includes unlimited data. Period.Originally Posted by SimpleKindaMan

Bleh, I was under the impression that this enabled free access.. or just took from the minutes of my plan. So if you still have to pay the normal astronomical rates- what's the big draw from doing all of this editing?
The pricing change didn't happen until November 2007 - and the pricing change only affects people that had to switch to the Nationwide plan (or new customers, of course).Originally Posted by Bechant
And, as you can see, this thread was started long before we even knew about the pricing change. And since you only have a couple of hours to edit a post, there are pages and pages of posts that we can't edit.
EDIT: and Mobile Web used to cost $5/month, and that was what the "free" referred to. Data was never "free" using this hack - data has always accrued based on your plan (old plans use minutes, new plans use $1.99/mb).
