Does m.facebook.com work with Hopke? With Zak's it says something about a security certificate.

I've followed the instructions completely and I am still having problems. First I edited the paramtable1 file manually and upon uploading to the phone and rebooting it the ##program8550 does not work. Instead of getting all 0's I am getting all ?'s. So I tried with the paramtable1.fil that drFUNK posted in this thread and I am having the same results. I suppose I could edit the paramtable1 manually with a hex editor but I would still like to know why the program code doesn't work.
EDIT: OK, yes I am stupid. Didn't realize that the screen with the ?'s was looking for a password and that the password is 000000. (I guess I read that wrong) Everything is working great now.

Okay I have a few questions to how all this works. (and to make sure i did this right).
So i replaced paramtable1 file that the author provided, and after that everything should work right?
I replaced it with his file, then restarted with bitpim.
So press up and the shortcut should bring me to the homepage, and after 9 i will not get charged for lookin on the internet?
Is this it?
Thanks alot for your help and time![]()
somebody please update the original postOriginally Posted by Midgetmouse

you still need to go change the WAP Primary port# to 80 instead of 8080
once you do that you should be good, it still uses airtime so anytime you are in free nights and weekends it is completely free
ive been trying to get this to work but i keep getting an "http error: 401 Unauthorized" i tried the google wap and a bunch of others like zaks still cant get it to work anyone know hwta i could be doing wrong?
1. You can edit the settings right from the Service Menu > WAP settings, right?Originally Posted by Ellinas89
2. put in wap.google.com in the proxy field
3. put in 80 in the port field
4. set homepage to http://wap.google.com
5. exit out of there and reboot the phone
6. go to the web by using the SHORTCUT to News & Info (this is MOST important - if you go to Get It Now > News & Info it will not use the Homepage field, it will use the url that is hardcoded in the paramtable1.fil)
Do those exact 6 steps and let me know what happens. You may only need to do step 6 though.
thnx alot man the last stepped worked i just got to ask another question could i visit over wap sites using this? and if so how?
say again?Originally Posted by Ellinas89

get a real proxyOriginally Posted by Ellinas89
google isn't a real proxy, and therefore you can only view pages thru the google search result
Will it show up as call time or data? Mine is still using data when I use the hacked settings.
data always shows as data minutes.Originally Posted by bnix13
Data minutes are billed exactly the same as voice minutes - do not confuse data minutes with data charges - data charges are data by the kb, and you will not see these on a feature phone plan (unless you purchase the per kb broadband DUN package - and then it would only be for DUN).
WAP, MMS/email, VCast, Mobile Web, Get It Now will never ever incur data per kb charges - only normal data minutes. And DUN will also use normal data minutes if you did the DUN hack.
Data and voice mintues are free nights and weekends and come out of your normal minutes plan at all other times.
I'm sorry if I sound dumb, But if I don't have a web/vcast plan I will still get charged for usage even though I changed the address and proxy?Originally Posted by Humpa
Also will the Mobile IM will work on this hack or will I need to stay on the VZW network?
Thanks
sorry again.
If you are asking if you can trick verizon into thinking you are not using any minutes, then the answer is no. Is that what you were asking?Originally Posted by dasaint80
All Get It Now apps and games (like Mobile IM) use verizon's servers - they don't use the proxy settings that you change in the paramtable1.fil/WAP Settings.
