the cable itself is worth that much!

    how does it work?

I see they ship it from Hong Kong; how long did it take for you to receive yours?

    thanks!

takes about 3 weeks but what do you expect for FREE shipping? works pretty well. its slightly wider thatn the phone itself so it looks odd. it will chage your phone up completely from a dead state. you just need to charge it ahead of time. it has a led indicator to show charging status.

you probably dont want to be moving around with the battery attached as you may damage the data port from too much twisting.

overall for $12 its a great deal IMO.

I'm thinking of picking one of these up:
    http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...=1&topnav=&s=1
But I don't really know what the capacity is and how much of a charge it'll give an iPhone.

I have a similar thing from Duracell which is simply a plastic shell that you can stick 2 AA batteries in and has a jack on the side to connect your phone. I just use off the shelf rechargeable batteries and it totally works well. I got a two pack at Costco for under $10 I believe (a while back.)

Thanks man, I got mine the other day, and you are right..for $12 bucks, its an AWESUM deal, and I would recommend it to ANYONE looking for an inexpensive extra battery pack; hell, just the retractable USB cable it comes with is almost worth that much, and I now regret buying the APC backup battery I bought for $50 a few months ago. This this has a higher capacity than the APC does, for 1/5 of the price!!

Yeah, I get about 3 charges with 25% left on my 3GS for the Just Mobile Gum Pro. I love it, weighs nothing in the pocket. People may laugh at you until their battery runs out on any phone that uses a USB port to charge.

    Thumbs up

I also use Mobile Gum Pro. This thing is beast! and long lasting too. Always carry it in my pocket. Highly recommended for power users.

Just received the Gum Pro. Very impressive. I won't be carrying it regularly, using for long flights and hospital stays.

I have that one, the 3G juice 1800 mAh model that snaps on and the IMP5000. The IMP5000 was great but the on/off switch broke after a couple months. The I-up5400 works fine but for me it has a fatal flaw. I am not able to charge the battery itself by USB (the IMP5000 charged fine by plugging into my Macs USB). So that means I need a separate charger to use it, so I dont use it. The 3G juice is a workhorse for me. I have had it a year and depend on it constantly. I may get another IMP5000. But I wont carry another charger with me. I travel to much and try to get everything in one bag and every little bit matters.

The Mobile Gum and Gum Pro look interesting.
