I have the i95cl . I used icjal4.0 and it worked fine until i upgraded my firmware to R85.01.01. I was wondering does anyone know if icjal6 will work on this version of the softaware? If so, where can i get it from? If not, how can i downgrade? Thank you

Upgrading to R85.01.01 was a mistake if you want to load ringtones, games and wallpapers on your phone. There is NO version on IcJal which works with that software nor will there ever be any version which does.
The only thing you can do now is downgrade by using the method detailed here.

Why do I keep reading this in post after post and see this as ridiculous. There will NEVER be software that will work with firmware 01? For what reason was firmware 85.01.01 even invented? I'm sorry, it just seems so silly to me that a "downgrade" is the ONLY option for wallpaper loading on a 95 with the 01 firmware. Perhaps everyone is correct, but it's still hard to believe.There is NO version on IcJal which works with that software nor will there ever be any version which does.

First off Motorola has absolutely NOTHING to do with IcJal. This program was re-written and released by some users from this site who got together because they wanted to be able to load ringtones, wallpapers and games on their phones without having to pay Motorola to do so.
Second, Motorola released software version R85.01.01 to stop IcJal from working. They want people to have to pay them for ringtones and games(for obvious reasons.) In the details of this software version is says the upgrade adds "enhanced Java security." In other words, the loading of wallpapers, games and ringers via means outside of a Motorola issued program.
Third, the authors of IcJal are the ones who are saying there will never be a version released which works with R85.01.01. Do you think they are making that up? I for one believe them.
It seems you think IcJal was released by Motorola and that's why it's ridiculous that they would then release a phone software version which doesn't work with it. The complete opposite is the case. Motorola does not want IcJal to work, hence they released a phone software version that is incompatible with it.

No, I understand that icJal is "third party" software so to speak, what was difficult to understand was that they have no plans on creating a new software. EVERY new i95 being sold today has the new firmware. I was just wondering for what reason they wouldn't make a new icJal. Seems as though there is a demand for it. I for one, WILL NOT downgrade my phone, however, I would gladly pay for the software that would work with my version and allow me to upload wallpapers. Ringtones and games mean nothing to me, but walls would be cool. Thanks for helping me to see the deal.
