i don't know about the increased stability yet but one thing it defiantly fixed for me was the fact that if i talked, watched, or surfed the internet for a long time then the top half of my phone will get really hot. but after the update that problem has disappeared.

I updated at 10am est today, dont know where some of you got the times from.

I can say that navigating through emails has improved. Also i have yet to have to power off my wifi when switching from two different saved networks like i did prior when it used to fail every day

The update is only 7.1MB. My guess is it's pretty much only the fix for that Safari security bug.
I bet everyone that's hacked/messed with their iPhone will have trouble with this update.
My update just completed. Takes about 8-10 minutes including the download.

There are a few minor detail option updates, including a few more mail settings and passcode lock settings.

Just asking for clarification on 'hacking' the iphone:

has anyone who has unlocked the wifi features (so the phone is not associated with an account with AT&T)... have you been able to successfully use the update?
Or have you been able to unlock wifi/usage of the iphone again (if necessary?)

    THANKS!!
(yes I read all 8 pages... but by 'hacking' it's not clear what each member meant by that)

    Sadly I left palm; user since Robotics Palm Pilot; left att (glad of that though);
THE USA is just not GSM/UNLOCKED phone friendly (sorry, never tried T-Mobile).
I await a flagship WebOS phone... in the meanwhile...

This may or may not help, but I had temporarily used my husband's iPhone SIM in my iPhone to bypass activation. Everything works including Youtube. The update didn't cause a single problem. So the update works with no sim. YMMV

My activated (but NOT unlocked) iPhone has access to every function except for the phone and SMS. Everything else works fine with WiFi. As for the upgrade to 1.0.1, I had no problem whatsoever because I used iphoneunlocktoolkit from PQDVD.com instead of Jailbreak. I didn't even have to restore before doing the upgrade.

    Cheers!

Some of these updates were pushed OTA. I am not sure if this was mentioned. I didn't sync with my PC since tuesday morning. And now I have the ability to mark a message as unread. That is new isn't? As well as the dates in blue

Well I have v1.0.1 running on my iPhone, and it does not appear to have corrected the battery meter never reaching full...

Edit: Looks like my impatience got the best of me. After letting the phone charge for awhile longer it did reach full charge...nice to see.

Thats because they are black when its night time and white when its day time. You probably just happened to look at the clocks when it was day time in all the times you have set.
