I've been with Hell Mobility since the 80's (Soon to be former customer and off and on between different companies) and I have the old My Time 35 plan!
I know for a FACT that I've always been billed by the second and not the latest BS they're providing me how I'm billed by the second AFTER the first minute!
I have old bills to prove this and ever since Hell changed their billing format they've scammed their way to doing this!
The last rep I spoke to gave me nothing but attitude (typical from bell) and said that plan has been in place since 2001? WRONG! Like I said I have the bills to prove it and I know if I've been on a call for 10 seconds, I'm billed that way not after the frist minute!
Anyone else have this old plan like I do?
I know one thing, Hell is not getting another dime from me and thank God for portability or if that's dragged out because of the balance and I can't take my phone number with me, I get a new provider and similiar phone number!

As for the incorrect billing, I don't see how they can suddenly bill you per-second after the 1st minute and still leave you on the same plan. Have you asked them to rerate your account?

Nobody said you weren't with Bell. Just having a line active with them does not mean you have a contract. A contract means that you have agreed to stay with your providers for 'x' number of years (usually in exchange of a additional rebate on a phone) and that therefore the details of your plan are 'locked' and cannot be changed (even if Bell decide to change its 'per second' policy) unless both sides (Bell and you) agrees to it (by example if you want to change your plan). It does not mean that you have a plan (My time 35 or another) on a monthly basis.Originally Posted by The Napster
There is several possibilities depending of how old your 'proofs' are.
You were either on a per second plan and were no longer under contract when the policy changed and therefore ended up on 'after the first minute' plan.
But since the new billing system about 2-3 years ago (Ensemble) there is not supposed to be any directly 'per second' billing (from what I remember from when I was in CS, I might be wrong).
So you were either changed to 'after-the-first-minute' when Bell changed its policy because you din't had any contract or (if your 'proofs' are recent) the billing system had a error and wrongfully charged you per second 'right away' and they finally fixed it.
Your cable provider doesn't have to keep providing you with the Movie Network for free just because they gave it to you by mistake for the last year or something, they have the right to fix their own mistakes.

More phones than you since 2002
I said, you're not on CONTRACT with that plan, are you ? If you're not, then Bell can change that rate plan, the terms of that rate plan, even the amount of free minutes you get included, all they want to. A contract PROTECTS that rate plan, that's the whole point of being on contract. If you're not on contract, then you can't complain.Originally Posted by The Napster

Hasn't Bell always charged a sixty second minimum on plans that have per second billing?

In other words, the My Time 35 plan has a sixty second minimum, since it is not a corporate plan.

wow the my time 35, going back some. My brother has a plan similar to this and is billed per second after the first minute (the mytime 25) and always has since 2001-2002 time period
fairly certain this dispute would have to go all the way back to like 2000 to have any ounce of argument.
the only way this "suddenly just happened" is if someone removed a 6-7 year old feature very recently. (did anything happen to the plan)
otherwise the "bills to prove it" would have to be like 6-7 years old.
hopefully this isnt a case of "i just noticed this after years" type deal, because it sounds like it. because seriously a dispute like this should come up within a few months of the perceived incorrect billing. Bell changed the billing system 3 years ago
tough to really want to offer anything with the spiting venom/generalizations there would be many people who would want to help you figure out went wrong but your insulting people here and at the same time asking for some help related to this issue? if this is truly some sort of error, if you called in with the mentality of your post, would anyone want to go out of their way? what line of work are you in that makes you so ready to condemn? (i know i will not win this argument)

When I was with Bell a few years ago, I was once on a plan with per second billing with a one minute minimum. They then changed it to per minute billing simply by inserting a notice with the bill one month that basically said to the user that he/she had no choice.
You know, I had My Time 35 as well way back then... I remember the per-second billing, but I also remember receiving a letter in the mail back in 2001 indicating that I was going to be shifted to per-minute... I also remember there being more than one notice after the letter....something like the next 3 bills I received had a line-item at the very top indicating the change was coming. In fact, I bet if you do an archive search in the BM forum, you'll find a discussion or two about it!

I found an old Bell Mobility bill from 2001 when I had My Time 25 and that included 50 daytime (per second), unlimited evening/weekends from 6pm, unlimited local call forwarding, $4 system access, $0.25 911 fee. I would imagine that the MyTime 35 was essentially the same thing but just with additional daytime minutes. The per second billing was changed to per minute and Bell decided to not honor this one part of the plan any more (did not matter if you were on a contract or month to month). They left the rest of the plan intact.
Either way, to the original poster: You should have been converted to completely pure minute billing a few years ago and I don't have exact dates but the customer service person was actually telling you the truth.

I know that Bell at one point had per second billing with one minute minimum but I also think that at one point they had real per second billing (am i wrong?)
I'm not doubting what the OP is saying it says on his bill but the part that does not make sense is how did his per second billing not get changed to per second one minute minimum when it was suppose to and then how did Bell also forget to change him to per minute billing?
Basically what it comes down to is that Bell Mobility chose not to grandfather per second billing and it should not be on the orginal posters account to begin with. I did not agree with the way Bell chose to do this back then but still, on this customer's recent bills it should be per minute billing anyways.
