I can't get the slider sound tweak to work I followed it to the t and it just beeps it dosn't make the sound I want=( very frustrated I even deleted and started over a couple of times. can anyone do a step by step for it or give some more help it would be much appreciated. thanks.

Does anyone know of a registry tweak that will not delete cab files after installation?

Just change Attributes of the file from Archive to Read Only. Click on File, then on Properities. Then do the change. That works.

No benefit at all. Froze my Wing to the point that a soft reset was needed. Deleted the keys. Did anyone have luck with this edit?

I did the maxconnections tweak to my WM6 Wing. I actually had to create the keys myself. One thing mentioned was it helped with EDGE. For those of you using the WAP trick, you ARE NOT connecting to EDGE and will not notice a difference. On the other hand, my connection sped up A LOT using the wireless full internet plan.

I think the camera settings needs to be updated or I did something wrong...

Active Sync Running in the Background Fix:
1. Create a “Fake Server”
2.Go to Start  Programs  Activesync  Menu  Configure Server
3. In the following screens you can enter any old garbage. It does not matter, but just in case your unsure, just type the following in the indicated boxes:
4. Server Address: fake / User name: fake / Password: fake / Domain: fake. Then you are finished creating the fake server
5. Finally, UNCHECK the box in the time zones tab in the phone settings (This may sound silly, but it works! I promise!!)

yeah both the camera setting and the "fake" server thing didn't work for me either. the pictures are bad quality at that setting and just take more than one picture, which i don't need

This is GREAT! I set my sound to transformers when i slide open and closed, used the T-Zones workaround, Removed HotSpot Access, Removed MyFavs, set IE to store on card, and sped up phone. THANKS!!!

The fake server thing works... you are not doing something right.... I am 10000000% sure it works.

After you do the fix -- make sure you go to Start->Programs->ActiveSync->Menu->Schedule and set "Peak Times" & "Off-Peak Times" to Manually!!

You have to make sure you go to Start->Settings->Phone->Time Zones and uncheck the box that says "Automatic change time zone and clock"

This part is essential -- looks like I need to put some better instructions with this fix (I just assumed and we know what happens when one assumes).


The camera settings might need some tweaking... I will see what I have mine set to and try to fix it.

Ok, somewhere on the web, at one point, i was able to find the reg edit to disable the "going online" notification thing. Since i reflashed my wing to go with the touchFLO interface, i have not been able to find the reg edit for this. Does anyone have it? it was soooooooo nice not to have that dumb banner come up all the time.

LOL -- No "reg edit" necessary...Don't worry I try to make things more complicated than they have to be all the time


Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications->Notifications

Event: Connection Established

UNCHECK "Display Message on Screen"
