OCEAN GUIDES ALL IN ONE!!!!!
http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1177724 (Teaches you how to convert videos for your helio ocean and also helio video wall papers can be made using this format!)
http://www.howardforums.com/archive/...1201128-1.html (Video Backgrounds/Wallpapers tutorial. You can use the settings from the above link to create as well if you don’t feel comfortable with these settings)
http://www.heliocity.net/guides/how-...to-your-ocean/ (How to make ringtones for your Ocean)
http://skwpspace.com/2007/06/28/heli...n-tips-tricks/ (Ocean tips and tricks)
How to make your Ocean create 5 folders on your Micro SD card and what each do!
1) Insert micro sd in phone
2) Go to Menu > Snap > Settings > Set Storage > External
3) Take a Picture and Save the picture
4) Record a Video and then Save the video (video length does not matter)
• These steps will create 2 new folders onto your micro sd card
“Helio Movies” & “Helio Photos”
5) Next go to your Home PC and send yourself an e-mail with an attachment of a compressed ringtone to your Helio’s e-mail, “username@myhelio.com”. If you do not have a Helio e-mail account yet then create it at Helio’s Website. Remember that your ringtone can be an mp3, but before you send it to your Helio’s e-mail change the extension from .mp3 to .mmf.
6) After you have sent an e-mail from your computer to your Helio’s e-mail address go to Menu > Messages > Helio Mail , and open your e-mail that you have sent to yourself. Highlight the attachment (the ringtone you’ve sent) and click Download.
7) After the Download completes, the Download button will now change to Action. Click Action then select Save to External Storage.
• This will create a folder called “heliomsg”
Now your Micro SD card should have 5 folders TOTAL
The first 2 folders are created automatically when you insert your Micro SD card into your phone. They are “Helio Video” and “Helio Music”.
The other 3 folders were created following this guide: “Helio Movies”, “Helio Photos”, and “heliomsg”
Now some of you might ask why didn’t I just name the files on the micro sd card from the computer without following these TEDIOUS STEPS! Well I tried that, but for some reason the phone would not recognize the folders, maybe I didn’t type it properly, but it didn’t work!
So what do each of these folders do?
Well to my understanding the “Helio Video” folder is just to watch converted movies, music videos and other video clips using the Helio’s media player. So if you have converted video files that you just want to watch, drop it in the “Helio Video” Folder.
The “Helio Music” Folder is just to drop your MP3’s into for listening purposes only. You CANNOT drop a mp3 in this folder with the file extension changed to .mmf and use it as a ringtone, the phone will not even show the file visible.
“Helio Movies” is where you drop converted video clips that you want to use as Video Wallpapers. After you drop your converted video clips in the “Helio Movies” folder, go to Menu > Snap > Video Album > Helio Movies and Highlight your new converted video clip and hit Menu > Move and select the folder named “Default”. Then go to you’re the folder named “Default” in your video album Highlight the clip and hit Menu > Set as Screen and your DONE!
“Helio Photos” is where you drop pictures and can use them as wall papers as well. After you drop your pictures in “Helio Photos” folder, go back to your “Helio Photo’s” folder and highlight the picture you want as your wall paper and hit Menu > Move and select the folder named “Default”. Then go to your folder named “Default” in your Photo Album and highlight the picture and click Menu > Set as Screens.
“heliomsg” is a confusing folder to me! This is the folder that e-mail attachments go to if you save an attachment to external hard drive. At first I thought that I could save a mp3 file with a .mmf extension, then go somehow move the file to my internal memory and it would magically end up in the Rings menu… BUT NOOOO… argh…
So these are the 5 folders that I have learned of so far that the phone will format for you… there may be others that serves as other functions… so if anyone knows more please post.
My main purpose of this thread was for my friends to learn how to do some things on their new ocean phones… without having to search for 10 hours on Hofo…
Please people… if you have links to any other guides such as How to make Video Rings, How to make ringtones WITHOUT having to e-mail it to yourself, Ringtone Formats, Video Formats or ANYTHING else that I am missing here please post them here! Searching on the huge database that HOFO has one by one is very tedious and time consuming.
Thank you guys in advance!

Just as a FYI, you can create the formatting for the microSD card (with folders) by formatting it from the device.
how do you format it in the device....
I tried that by inserting the sd card in my phone... then I connected it to my pc... and when the removable f drive came up... i right clicked and selected format.... and that just cleared my folders....
so please explain how an sd card can be formatted in the helio to get all five folders! plz!
go to video/music > memory > clear memory > externalOriginally Posted by yuntanman
Does that also create the folder named "heliomsg" ?
If not still a lot faster way to get the "Helio Movies" and "Helio Photos" folders!

I have a FAQ running over at Heliocity. I tried to keep it updated here as well, but you have only 2 hours too update or something like that. So yeah, I stopped updating it here.
THANK YOU! That was very informative and ever so helpful. I too tried to create folders through my PC both by direct connection and by using the Ocean and neither worked.
Now I just need to know how to create small clips from my favorite songs so I can make ring tones from them.![]()

So, the only way to use custom tones is by emailing them to the Ocean? Still can't drop an .mmf file into the folder? I converted some .mp3 files into .mmf and wanted to know how to use them, I guess I'm just hoping for an easy way...LOL
I buy phones for no reason.

I did some digging and you'll need this 16 digit password to unlock your helio ocean/Pantech PN-810 if you don't have an up-to-date copy of a CDMA utility software.
