    Awesome! I took the easy route, and grabbed DRM Packager for OSX, Packed my .mp3 and sent it to my Rogers w580i via Bluetooth and it worked! Woot

    I have a similar problem because my k850 takes 20secs to react/popup the "saved in memory card..........".
    It says OBEX error 00: Phone didn't answer.

    Even with the error the file still showed up in the phone and is usable.

    Same here on my Rogers K850i... I thought it hadn't worked, then all of a sudden it appeared and I could use the song as a ring tone.

    I'm happy that it works, but there's gotta be an easier way of going about this?

    Toronto 2 folders where?

    Hihi...I was following the instructions below but then I don't see the 2 folders (phone mem and mem card) when I go into SE File Manager --> my w580. Does anybody know what's wrong? I also get the "OBEX Error" and I don't see the two folders when I use MyPhoneExplorer. Grr this is so frustrating! Did anybody encounter this problem as well? (and solve it?)

    Thanks!!

    dont drag it into the folders but just drag it where u c the 2 folders, into tht window

    Once u do tht ur phone will sudden move and it will transfer the .dm file
    you will c it on ur phone screen
    Now it will place the file in the Music folder for u automatically and ask you if u want to use it now..

    If u get all tht you did it right
    cheers,

    If you don't want to deal with the DRM repacking, you can re-enable MP3 ringtone on Sony Ericsson phone.

    Create a text file called Customize_Upgrade.xml and copy it (using XS++ or FAR Manager) to the directory tpa\preset\custom . The file should contain the following lines:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <customization>
    <drm>
    <settings>
    <enable-ringtoneplayer-mp3>true</enable-ringtoneplayer-mp3>
    <enable-ringtoneplayer-aac>true</enable-ringtoneplayer-aac>
    </settings>
    </drm>
    </customization>

    Would this work with my Rogers K850I?

    I've made the file, downloaded XS++, got it to connect to my phone, but I'm clueless as to what comes next...

    Tried this on my AT&T w580i with no luck. Still can't use full mp3's as ringtones. The phone will allow small clips but not full songs. Guess I'll have to debrand the thing.

    That's controlled by your ring duration, controlled by your network provider and indirectly by you.
