Ok, me and my g/f are both on verizon and my contract ends with them in a week and I am thinking of switching to at&t. Her contract will get over in November. She was on her sisters family plan who lives in Chicago and her VZ number is from chicago but last year she took individual plan but kept the same number with verizon. We both are now in Delaware. We would not want to pay to talk to each other, but I guess if I sign up now then from now until november both of us have to use anytime minutes as we will be in different carriers.

I am going to get a new number alltogether from At&t and she wants to keep her number. Will she be able to port her number since its a Chicago number.

We want to have the same monthly bills as we get now from VZ which is around $50 with taxes etc.

I don't know just becuase I want to use a Nokia should I change my carrier. Also I hate the idea that with VZ you are stuck with the choice of phone that they offer, This is absolutely BS!!! excuse my language.

I don't know what is the best way to have a phone that I want, my g/f gets to keep her number and we both know that at the end of the month we will get a bill which will be under $50.

You invaluable inputs are highly needed. What do some of you guys in my situation do?

P.S. I called CS and they told me that I can get a 1 year contact which is great, but there will be a credit check. I don't have a good credit score around 620. Will this be a problem, willl the credit check hurt my credit score.
