It doesn't take 8 hrs, it just never really tells you when the battery is full unless you check the status.

When the phone is done charging it tells me charging completed.

The phone is charging for 12 hours already and the status says 87% when 2 hours ago it was 84%.

Now i just unplugged the charger and it jumped to 93%.
I plugged it again and it went back to 88%. A sec after that, i checked the status and it 92%.

The status is very unreliable. every time i check it says different percenteges

What the heck is going on here??

    What's the firmware?

I think one of the first things that I did when I got my W610 was get the new firmware from SE update service.

The only way to tell is to try a new battery and see if your phone produces the same result. But it sounds like the battery is defective.

i will go tomorrow and replace the batt...

    but last questions..

    1. maybe its the charger that is defective and not providing enough power fo rthe phone? if i try to charge my W610i with a K610i charger, will that be good? i mean, the chargers are producing the same power right?

My charger says on it: Sont Ericsson standard charger CST-60
but on the K610i it says CST-70

does that mean the k610i charger produces more power? or is it just a model number?

    2. when you get the battery first time out of the box, does it suppose to be completely empty? or it suppose to have some amount of power in it? cuz mine had 33% when i first plugged it in the phone. Is that normal?

Well I just got my W610i today and it had some charge to start out with.
And every other phone I have ever bought came with some residual charge so that you can use it, so to the best of my knowledge, yes it should come with some charge in the battery already.
