I don't think I saw any changes in California, in general. Maps look like San Simeon shows a bit more coverage. If I go down to the street level, the 'new' site in Valencia/Saugus at Plum Canyon/Bouquet Canyon shows up.Originally Posted by ilvla2

Lots of changes. Here is my visual interpretation of the changes in AT&T coverage maps dated 12/04/09 to 1/8/10. The first thing I’ve noticed is the maps are MUCH more detailed when zoomed out. It’s was certainly harder to tell if coverage had been added or if it was an increase in detail. If you find anything I missed or a location I misrepresented please correct me.
ALABAMA – EDGE site added to Vina (Franklin Co.)
ARIZONA – 3G expanded around Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Tucson.
CONNECTICUT – 3G added to Torrington
FLORIDA – 3G added to Ebro
IDAHO – 3G added to Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Salmon, Hailey, Twin Falls, and various places NE of Idaho Falls. EDGE coverage added along US 95 near Canada border.
INDIANA – Former Centennial coverage added.
KANSAS – EDGE coverage expanded around Hutchinson.
KENTUCKY – 3G added to Madisonville. Check out eastern KY. Either they cranked up half the sites in the state or underestimated coverage the whole time.
LOUISIANA – 3G added in Houma area. Former Centennial coverage added.
MARYLAND – 3G filled-in in central Delmarva.
MICHIGAN – Former Centennial coverage added.
MISSISSIPPI – Lots of changes here. 3G added to Laurel and Picayune. Continuous 3G along I-20 and I-55. 3G added to US 82 from Greenville to Greenwood.
MISSOURI – EDGE coverage added south of Springfield near Crane.
MONTANA – EDGE site added in Missoula. Was this there before?
NEW MEXICO – 3G expanded around Albuquerque
NEW YORK – Some roaming coverage adjustments near Canadian border. 3G added along I-84/Middleton. 3G expanded east of Ithaca.
OHIO – Former Centennial coverage added in the NW corner.
OREGON – New 3G coverage in Bend.
TEXAS – 3G added to Cisco and Brownwood.
VERMONT – 3G now peppered throughout the state.
VIRGINIA – 3G expanded in Roanoke. 3G added to Harrisonburg.
WASHINGTON – 3G expanded in south central part of the state between I-90 and I-82.
WYOMING – 3G added around Jackson Hole.
Thanks for the updates on the coverage changes.
Yeah, whats up with that one? How is that fair, and why was it Missisippi that got it? Lol Is AT&T starting to cover highways now or what? There is a lot of questions behind that one.Originally Posted by jfr3021

Non existent roaming coverage removed.
850 GSM/HSPA+ "only". (for now)
I suspect that we'll see a lot more of the interstates covered in 3G, as many of the largest urban areas are 3G.
Similar to what is done in Mississippi, is what I'd expect
Eg. I-20 from DFW to Atlanta, I-75 from Detroit through Lexington, I-10 from San Antonio to Jacksonville, I-5 from Tijuana, to Canada (not much left to do), I-15 LA to LV.
They need to get going on I-5 between Woodland and Anderson and I-5 between Redding and the Oregon Border, Williams, Willows, Corning, Orland Red Bluff, Mt.Shasta, Yreka and Weed are still EDGE. Also, on 101 north of Santa Rosa, still no 3G in Cloverdale, Hopland (I know, the map shows some there, but it's wrong), Willits, Laytonville, Leggett (Leggett STILL has no GSM coverage) or Garberville, and 101 between Willits and Eureka needs some SERIOUS coverage expansion, regular and 3G. The Coast (Hwy.1) needs some more coverage too, both 2G and 3G, they need to get some more sites up along the Mendocino and Sonoma County Coasts, and get 3G to Fort Bragg and Mendocino, and then there's the areas between Ukiah and the coast, ie.Boonville, Navarro, and the HUGE, almost 30 mile mostly dead spot on Hwy.20 (THE Main road between Mendocino, Lake, Northern Sonoma and Southern Humboldt Counties and and the Sacramento Valley) between Clearlake Oaks and Williams (though that spot is dead with every carrier). Verizon is putting up several new sites in the area and has 100% of their network 3G, but AT&T just seems to be sitting on their butts in this areaOriginally Posted by formercanuck
Now, I know Hwy.101 isn't technically an Interstate, but it functions as one in Northwestern Calfornia, the Central California Coastal areas and Southwestern Oregon.
Come on big Blue, I know you can do better! I'm glad to hear some areas got some love, I just wish our are would too![]()

Oneonta, NY is now covered, as of last weekend at least. My last visit there (late December), 3G didn't exist there.

Just as an example, there is a site approved and all graded and ready about 5 miles east of Fort Bragg on Hwy.20 for the AT&T tower (150 foot) that was SUPPOSED to go up there, it's sat like that for almost 2 years now
They can do so much better, and I want them to, but here they sit on their hands, warming them with their buttsSome at AT&T would probably say, well, it's a rural area so that's normal, but the other guys are putting up sites left and right here, and major companies like T-Mobile and Verizon yet, and from previously urban only carriers like Metro PCS, so that kinda throws that out the window.
This was put up on a co-location site of AT&T's that is an actual AT&T CO, and has already has T-Mobile (old Cingular site) and Sprint.
You'll have to put in inquirires on their facebook site to see if/when they plan to do anything.
Rexburg doesn't look fully covered, especially downtown and BYU Idaho.Originally Posted by ilvla2
You would figure that these areas would be covered, as opposed to a few housing tracts and bunch of random land on the eastside. The last time I was there, there was land just east of BYU Idaho that was probably just sprawl..
In any case, the 3G coverage looks spotty...much more than I thought.
I'm sure that if you ask ilvla2, they probably haven't changed at all since they were deployed initially.
