You missed a spot!![]()
Here's the graphic of June (left) and July (right) showing the massive AT&T HSPA upgrades in Oklahoma. I had to look very hard to catch them. 3, maybe 4 sites, tops. Of course there were no EDGE upgrades at all, only existing 3G to HSPA.

Check your geography, that's Nocona, TX, which did go 3G from EDGE. There is no Nocona or Nacona OK. A little fringe area spillover from Texas counts for very little in the grand scheme of things. When 1/3 of the state is EDGE-only, 3-4 sites in northeast Oklahoma and 5 miles of spillover from sites in Texas don't really help. At this rate it will take them much longer than 2017 to get the whole place upgraded to where they can turn off 2G.

The little dot in the lower righthand corner of the previous map is also in Texas, a site in a rural area of Texas near Clarksville.

My bad on the OK/TX .
Here's a large map.Attachment 83818
This is what I was referring to, what were you referring to?

Central Illinois had huge expansion last month. Springfield and Decatur expanded enhanced backhaul expansion. Clinton, Lincoln, Peoria, and Bloomington/Normal, IL all got HSPA + w enhanced backhaul. All interstates connecting these areas also got lit up. Really impressed with all they've done this month here. Now if we could only get some of the edge in Illinois filled in. Great nationwide progress going on though.
Their map for 62801 still appears to show EDGE/2G and a friends daughter was in town the last weekend in July with an ATT iPhone. I asked her what her phone was showing just for the heck of it. She said what is E? So. . .it seems their map is right for here. There may be an island of 3G down at the south end of town where the industrial park is and there is a bit that sticks across Route 161 west of town in a farmers field. The same thing is true when you go north on Route 51; a small arm of it out in the middle of no where.
Then if you check their map for 62831 which includes the Illinois South Conference of the United Church of Christ Camp and Conference Center known as DuBois Center you will find a complete hole in ATT coverage. It actually starts a bit north of there as you make the jog where Route 51 & 15 join for a very short distance.
So it is no wonder that most around here, including me, are on Verizon or a Verizon MVNO.
Well, talk to me when they upgrade something like that area in the northwest that is EDGE-only, for example, to 3G/UMTS/HSPA. Then I will believe that they have made "significant" progress. I do hold out some hope for real progress at some point, because they are running out of 3G areas to upgrade to HSPA. There is not much more to do, and they will either have to start upgrading those EDGE areas to 3G or start expanding their LTE beyond the Oklahoma City area. My prediction is they will work on LTE and leave the EDGE areas as they are. That entire EDGE area in the northwest will be covered with Verizon/Pioneer LTE in a few months (a third is already) and AT&T hasn't shown any inclination of doing anything to counter that.
