The Official Samsung U470 "Juke" Music Swivel Pre-Release Thread

This is the new Samsung SCH-U470 that is going to be released sometime in the first half of 2008.
It is not even on the FCC approval site yet.
As you can see, it is Samsung's version of the LG VX8550 Chocolate.
It is not as wide as the VX8550, but looks to be taller.
    The LCD is 128x200 Pixel.
It will also feature some new FlashUI themes.
As for the other specs (camera, memory, size, weight) it is unknown.

I feel that with this phone coming out next year, as well as the LG VX8800,
that Samsung is a little late getting into the "Music Phone" category.

By the way, notice the Date on the phone "Thursday October 28", that would be in 2008.

Looks pretty long for a slider.

Or pretty small (with the picture blown up) and the same length as all of the rest.

My understanding is this is a swiveling phone design.

    Story on engadget

It does say it swivels. And the phone it is based off, the x830, while key layout is different, swivels as well. This phone should be pretty cool though.

this phone is geared towards ladies and about the same size as a lipstick case. and yea it does swivel but has a very sharp screen for that small size.

Look at the pictures, when closed, the circle touch thing is on the bottom. When opened, the circle thing is still on the bottom.
If it were a swivel, wouldn't the circle be on the top when opened?
    It looks like a slider.

October 28, 2008?? What kind of date is this? That's over a year from now, this phone is not that important Or maybe it is for Samsung?

Also, what is that THING connected to the phone? Another proprietary connector for charger and data?

its a swivel.. look at the first two pics FAUguy posted.. the first one is with it open, with the power cord. on the bottom of the phone.

the second pic is a pic of the phone, closed. if it was a slider then the power cord would stay on close to the bottom of the phone and on the same side, but its not. the second pic shows that the power cord is on the left side, on the upper part.

the phone was closed by holding the screen in place and swiveling the bottom half closed.

I sell phones, to buy phones.

So it looks like one would not be able to open the phone with one hand... You need to hold the top and swivel the bottom that's uhm... unorthodox

you could still swivel it open with one hand but if you wanted to swivel the screen part you would have to turn it upside down then use your thumb to swivel it open.

Where are you guys seeing October 28th? It says October 23rd in that first picture. The dates on the pictures are usually meaningless anyway.
