Some calls are going straight to voicemail. Why?

Some of my calls are going straight to voicemail and some calls show up missed after several minutes. What is going on? Anyone know?

Are you using WCDMA? If so, it's just how CDMA 'works' sometimes. Sprint seems to have this problem around certain (NID) boundary areas. Too many towers, too many users, slot cycles, it can be complicated. Hopefully they'll get the tower spacing right, it's pretty important on CDMA based systems compared to GSM.

Are any of your calls coming through? If not then it's your Registration on the network and only Tech support can cancel it for your device to register on the network. If some of your calls are coming through then it''s probably a local network issue. See if it persist till Monday then call Customer Service from a landline.

Depends on where it is, the size of the service area, that sort of thing. Rural areas won't be as much due to population wheres as urban areas will have a higher capcity.

And what would be those estimated capacity #'s?

And how much more capacity does 3G use vs EDGE vs GSM?

    Or a call vs data?

Its really got me wondering, even wikipedia doesnt have the answer.

Not sure on any sort of estimate. Not sure where you'd be able to find out.

Yes , Some calls make it through just fine and some calls don't. I'll keep track and give customer service a call on Monday. Thanks.
