Ya no doubt who in there right mind would want an Env with all those restrictions by Verizon.

I ended up finding the right firmware, the phone is so much better debranded...I recommend doing it ASAP!

My friend's Cingular-branded W300i(I still hate the keypad) has network selection... Did their W810i have it?

Not sure. I know a lot of the older phones on Cingular were pretty much still opened up.

The last SE phone I got from AT&T was the Z520a I never had a problem with ringtones. Of course all of my ringtones are within the limits of the boundries set by AT&T. But my last 2 phones (unlocked W810i and unlocked K790a) you can use any file as a ringtone no matter length or size. But who would want the intro to most songs? Most people want the courus.

Last week we bought the w580i from Best Buy for AT&T and I had a little trouble at first doing my own ringtones. I use Ringtone Media Studio (which is like Motorola Phone Tools for all phones) and still create my own mp3 ringtones. I think it just has to do with the file size. We've tried to keep them all around 300kb and they work. One ringtone we had from another phone that we made was around 600+ kb and it did not work. When I dropped it down to 300kb it did work. This is the AT&T white branded w580i.

Yea thanks Kaarl, it has been mentioned that the 580's work with custom ringtones up to 600KB, which equals out to 30-45 seconds or quality audio.

But you better do some reserch so you dont hose yer fone...

topsony.com has all the file you need, also the instructions in the forums on how to.

I was thinking about writing something here, but I am in no position to offer the amount of support it would need.
