Actually I'm told the testing is supposed to be wrapped up at the end of October... now as to whether or not that'll actually be the case, I guess we'll see in a couple weeks.

    Opera mini and razr v3m

Just thought I'd share this. Many may already be aware. My problem with loading Opera mini on the razr was due to the lack of java onboard. Since CS and Verizon phones run "brew" as opposed to java, it looks like it kinda limits the apps you can load - unless they are written for the brew platform. Please correct me if I am wrong on this one.

Cellular South selects Alcatel-Lucent to upgrade to 1xEV-DO Revision A for $55 million over 3 years. I wonder how long it will take for them to upgrade most of there network. I would also think that they will come down on the price of the laptop unlimited plan.

I wonder if they'll ever get around to upgrading Pensacola.

How'd you stumble on this news?

I saw it on another forum. Also a friend of mine had talked to a sales rep that knew a little about it. That is what made me look for that press release . It does look like they are going to push there data service harder with this press release .

They really need an MMS solution but a BREW application isn't the answer. Dolts.

For $55 million I would think that they are talking about the whole network.

I agree, Brew is not the answer but i really doubt that they will do something with MMS, we can hope though.

Does anyone have any contacts to find out if there will be any new Nokia phones available on Cellular South? I can only find two listed on their website.

Nokia has stopped making CDMA phones. You may see a couple out there, but they're actually Pantech phones with a Nokia nameplate. Unfortunately, these are running a Pantech interface, not Nokia's.

Oh wow that really sucks. You can't beat the simplicity of Nokia.

I really just want a simple phone with bluetooth that I can text on really fast.

I haven't found a phone out there that I can text as fast as I can on a Nokia.

They're big BB fanboys at Cellular South so I would doubt that it'll be too much longer. They got the 8330 really soon considering their track record for releases... on par with VWZ and the other big guys... maybe it'll be soon.

That phone is so small and light I can see myself maybe picking one up... if I could ever get used to suretype.
