Anybody want to predict how much they will spend on the 700 Mhz auction. They spent 35 million before there discounts were applied on the AWS auction. I think they will spend 150 million and go for the west half of Tennessee and all of Mississippi and Alabama. In order to do that they will only get the small Block E of 6 MHz.
I'm new to the Blackberry and was trying to figure something out. When i try to use the BB GPS its telling me its searching for satellites but after waiting several minutes its still saying "searching for satellites", does Cell South lock this feature from being used or is something wrong with my phone?
Thanks
Rockey
They didn't lock out the gps. Mine works fine. Just give it some time. Some days mine takes several minutes.
Thanks for the info, as soon as i leave work i'll try it and see if it picks up any satellites.

Are they in the 700 MHz Auction? I havent followed it like the AWS which i only followed due to T-Mobile's interest. Anyone?Originally Posted by Frenchfry
This FCC page shows they are in without a discount. I though they they were small enough to get a discount.Originally Posted by reedacus25
I have a Nokia 6265i and brew service. I connect to the internet with a n770 through my 6265i by making a data call. Is there any way to connect to the internet without making a data call?
I have Opera Mini installed, and it connects to the internet without making a call (1X ?). Is there an app. that will connect to the internet the way Opera Mini does, and share that connection via bluetooth. (Like a router) It would be nice to be able to recieve a call while on my n770.
Anyone have any idea when they are ever going to get around to releasing some new smartphones?
My 6700 is on its last leg. I was trying to hold out until some new phones became available. I was going to buy the Treo 755p if I had to get a phone before then, but I see that phone is now missing from thier web site.
How can they only have two blackberrys and the moto q? All other carriers have all kinds of smartphones.

I was in the same boat... and just said forget it. Cell South doesn't get it.
Was in a store last week and was told they got the cases in for the Pearl but still didn't know a release date.
I was told the same thing yesterday, kjl25. But, you know, I really don't want a BlackBerry -- even the Pearl. I'd like a Windows-based phone other than the Q, but I might just bite the bullet and get the Q anyway.
I love the calling plans and the customer service, but as far as I can tell, they havent had anything new since I bought my PPC6700 two years ago. For some reason, I just dont like the Blackberrys or the Motorola Q. They have amazing service in Hattiesburg. Never have any issues in any part of town.
The Cell South agent in the mall tells me that the 6800 failed testing and will not be offered by Cell South.
As bad as I hate to , I think I am about ready to make the switch back to Alltel. I went into the store yesterday, and they have an amazing variety of phones to choose from.
I guess Cellular South just doesnt get it. They are killing themselves with cheap phones.
