Step 1: Go to the "Settings and Tools" menu and press "OK". Once you are in there press the # key, you should be prompted for a “User Lock” password enter “0 0 0 0 0 0” for the password. Once in the “SYSTEM INFO” menu press "0" one more time and you will be prompted with another “User Lock” password request, input 0 2 1 8 2 4 3 4 4 0. This will unlock yet another menu “PARAM EDITOR”, once in this last and final menu go down to the "USERPREFS Editor" and press "OK", erase the “0” and change it to a “1”. Press "OK" to apply the changes and simply press the “END” button to return to the phones main screen.

Step 2: Press the “MENU” button go into the “GET IT NOW” menu once in the
main screen of the menu press “#” and you will be prompted with a “ENTER LOCK CODE” password prompt. Enter the last 4 of your phone number (unless you change the security code). Still no luck getting wap working on the U740. Followed settings as instructed, here are a few things I have added, but still no luck. Using samsung pstlite, IS-95/1x/1x-EVDO_DATA settings: QNC_ENABLED is Disabled, set Enable MIP profile to OFF, DATA_SO_SET at IS-707, MDR_Mode set to MDR ONLY. As stated, SIP NAI, and AN NAI are set to yournumber@vzw3g.com, and I cannot find a way to change it. I looked through the PARAMTABLE EDITOR on the phone and cannot find any settings of use. This would be a great phone for cricket if the wap would work. Please post if you can shed some light on this problem.

this thread has been edited to remove the childish bickering. please create your own thread to advertise/brag, so i can ban whoever makes posts like this without posting the actual information about how to flash the phone.

if someone has a solution to the original problem here, please post it so we can add this to the sticky.

Use Samsung PST (not PST lite)

I reprogrammed a u740 about a week ago and got the WAP and MMS to work on it.
The previous one I did with help from beezlewaxin, we changed all the vzw settings with Samsung PST. I only had PST lite and he had both PST and PST lite. When you read it with PST lite, you can see the all the log in settings in the IS-95/1x/1x-EVDO_DATA but they are highlighted in blue which means you cannot change them but when you read it with Samsung PST you are able to edit those settings. The version I have is 1.0.020.
The one I did a week ago had the SIP password blued out but I changed it with QPST (2.7 build 215). The one beezle and I did before that, did not have anything blued out using PST----weird.
Under PPP in QPST, in the "UM" tab, I entered the password "cricket" there. I think that is the one. Sorry, but I only have the phones for a brief amount of time.
Anyway. When I went back and read it with Samsung PST the word "cricket" was in there and was still blued out but it worked. I got the WAP and MMS up and running.
    Hope that helps, guys.

    Happy Cricket hacking!!

ok. i just got this phone today, and after many hours i finally got wap and mms working. like most of the posts already here i had to mess around with the phone a lot and i'm not sure exactly what is required to get it set up. however i promise that the following actually needs to be set to no.
    PRIMARY IP

    1) PROXY IP USED= yes
I'd be happy to give anyone that needs them the settings i have, but the battery is dead and i only have a car charger for it right now. I'll try to figure this out another day and post the settings i have.

If I'm not mistaken this is one of the settings you can see/edit if you have the right version of the Samsung PST.
