Supposedly it has manual support, but most of the spec sheets out there point to only autofocus. Guess we'll find out really soon.

yea...i was confused to how they would even implement it since the jogdial seems to be reserved for the zoom function already

In one of their demo videos, it showed that you tapped on the subject in your viewfinder to manually focus on that point. Whether or not it'll make the final retail version is to be seen. Personally, I hope it'll be a feature, just because it'd be bad ***!

I recall a video of a demo, made at a trade or consumer show,

the young lady holding the phone reached around to front and manually zoomed the picture in and out,

she did not physically change the focus /clarity , just physically turned the zoom lens

like it was a hi-end 35mm camera

Right, that's the zoom function. What we're talking about is the manual focus.

I think i've seen that video...it cracked me up when she said it was the "1st cellphone with maunal zoom" dont think i've ever seen a phone or a camera for that matter with automatic zoom

ahhaha hes gonna get own, hes got no box or manuals or usb cable. im guessing itll show up by the end of this month. which means imma wait till end of nov to get it, once prices deflate.

Its really a shame that this phone doesnt support the USA GSM/HSDPA band. The pics i saw at GArena looks as good and video recording as good as my N95. I am very very impressed with what LG has done.
