Verizon Wireless is reporting that there is a network outage with its cellphone service.
It was unclear as of Friday afternoon how widespread the outage is, company spokesman Jimmy Duval said.
Engineers are working to correct the problem, he said. The problem was discovered at around 3 p.m., he said.

Lewisville here(bout 15min north of dallas)
No service for over an hour now. The VZW store I just went in was crawling with about 75 people with more walking in the door about their phones not working. I originally thought it was my phone but I guess not.
Where's the dialtone?

I am Downtown Dallas and have been without service since 3:15.
Checked with some other VZW customers in the office, no service there either.
I called Verizon, first thing I said was "I'm in the DFW area..." he stopped me and said "no service right? there is a widespread outage in north texas, no ETA as of yet" that was at about 3:40pm.

Many North Texas Verizon customers had trouble using their wireless devices Friday afternoon.
The company's wireless service crashed affecting most of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The exact number of customers affected was not available.
The outage began about 2:50 p.m. and Verizon hoped to have service restored by 4:30 p.m.

All was fine till about 3 when I was messaging my brother back and come to find the "searching for service" displayed on the phone.
First thing comes to mind is the phone took a dump so I ran up the street to the VZW store off North Garland & GB where I found all entrances to the parking lot a total madhouse,looked like black friday at walmart or something!
Store employee was standing outside the store greeting customers as they ran up saying their phones died and said sorry our network is down,perhaps all north Texas.
