Thank you for the information. Will make sure it gets called first thing Monday morning.

Yeah, that's how it starts. Next thing is either junk-mail or black helicopters! Or both!

I just opted out all 5 lines I have, and I just sent everyone I know a email with the number and explaining this deal and that number is to opt out, and told them to forward on to anyone they know that has verizon.

Everyone here, dont forget about your friends who dont use HoFo, email them and let them know, and have them forward on. The number of alerts will multiply a lot if we all do it.

One good thing about opting out on a family plan is that when you call the opt out number, you only have to enter data to verify ownership of the account once, then the system gives you the choice to enter another number. Got all four numbers on my family plan opted-out quickly.

Verizon is bush league service! The fact that one must provide OPT OUT notice or Verizon will share your private information with other companies is scandulous, scumbag, and thankless attitude toward customers to make a buck. Verizon should be ashame of itself for such tactics. You must call 800-333-9956 within 30 days of receiving the letter or your private information, phone, will be shared with other scumbag companies. The hypocracy of verizon is at the top of page 2 of CPNI notice:
"Your privacy is improtant to us"

You freakin liars!!!! I am thinking about switching to AT&T! I really am pissed!

Everybody sells your personal information unless you specifically opt out. This isn't anything new and isn't exclusive to Verizon.

AT&T does the exact same freaking thing. Remember that whole "wiretapping" issue? AT&T was involved in that. At least Verizon has the courtesy to tell you that you're being watched!

I opted out as well - if they had actually ASKED for my consent I might have given it, but the fact that they assumed it made the decision for me.

I opted our lines out of VZW's CPNI just now. I tried to "opt-out" of the Black Helicopters but "W" won both elections.

Actually it IS a big deal for those of us who don't really care to have faceless corporations we don't know getting ahold of every bit of info attached to us that ISN'T already available online. People like you make me weep for the future of this country.

Because the world is going downhill because corporations sell our data without personal information attached to it? Oh know! What is the world coming to!!! I don't think that this civilization will survive if Nortel receives info stating that an anonymous caller from WA State made a call for 5 minutes as he traveled through California. It's the end of the world! SAVE YOURSELVES WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!!!!
