You guys on the USC firmware can set that last stubborn setting in QPST Service Programing "PPP Config" Tab under "AN" sub tab that stays "User ID: yourESN@usc.net" Well use Moto Super Trubka to fix that setting the seem is below

    Seem 04aa Record 0001
Change the first offset 0000 on the hex side to "14" then starting at offset 0001 on the text side type out "yourphone#@vzw3g.com" then save to phone. After you restart you can read your QPST Service Programing again to see that it stuck now.

I don't think the extra memory is worth the price right now. Anybody tried this yet, though?

memory card issue after USC flash to v9m

I noticed if i have my phone setup to save pics and videos to the card they dont save. if i take a photo it says photo capture failed. If i take a video, at the end when it should save it just sits there until it just finally closes the video camera. if i set it up to save to phone, it works fine. Also when i go into my picture folder and try to view card only, it just exits the picture folder completely. Anyone heard of this?

My first time ever trying something like flashing a phone and it went beautifully. I was nervous as hell going into this but Mark's instructions were perfect. Big thanks to Mark, kbman, Goldmember, and everyone else who did all the work on this.

One question i did have though involved video. Is there currently anyway to watch movies saved on the memory card on the external screen? I tried numerous searches to find this answer and evidentally I don't know the proper searhc words to use to see if this has been discovered. I was hoping that by flashing to the USC firmware it would allow me to do this but I couldn't.

Other than that thanks once again to all the work that went into this and for wmrussel getting it all started with his phone. Now to go play with some skins.

The card could be formatted incorrectly. Did you try formatting the card on the phone?

Not on the external screen, only the internal screen. I like MP4 format. It will also play 3G2. If you get the YouTubeDownloader, save as MP4.

Bah...that is what i was afraid of wmrussell. I already have two seasons of Sunny in Philedelphia and the Simpsons movie on my phone. I put them both as mp4 and as 3gp. They both play great. While the 3gp does have a very very slight bit of artifacting it doesn't have the little bit of ghosting that mp4's seem to have. I ended up watching the movies mostly as 3gp.

Have to admit that this phone made a 4 hour plane flight tons more bearable. Now I just want video on the external, hehe...

6GB microSD card works!!! kinda... O.o

I got my 6GB micro SD card (5.64GB actual) in this morning, poped it in, and the phone only reports it as a 1.6GB card. @#$*&?!!! I am able to read and write files to the card, so the firmware is able to read the SDHC format, just nothing over 1.6GB?? NOOOOOOO!!! [Darth Vader Style]

2nd attempt: Shove 4.84GB of music, movies, and tv shows on the card from the computer... pop it in the phone, wham! It sees everything! The storage info shows
    Free: 870,980 KB
    Used: 905,148 KB
    Total: 1,776,128 KB

Hmm, free space info is correct, but not the other two. Another bug... It won't read videos larger than 250MB. All my tv shows are 244MB and less; but all my movies are 450MB+ and it says they're all corrupt. I know they're not because I copy them onto my 2GB card formatted as FAT16 and they work just fine. However, when I formatted the 2GB card as FAT32, the movies did not work. So I think it has an issue reading large files under the FAT32 file system. I guess it's movies on my 2GB and music/tv shows on the 6GB. At least it works!

I just deleted the three movies on the phone itself that refused to play. Now the storage info says...
    Free: 2,443,904 KB
    Used: 3,526,528 KB
    Total: 1,776,128 KB

Ok, that's somewhat more correct, 2 of 3 numbers.

How does that compare to the Free, Used and Capacity bytes for the MMC looking at My Computer?

By chance, did your PC create a recycler folder on the 6GB card?

Free and Used show up the same on the PC, but the capacity shows up as 5,958,696 KB; which is actual capacity. And no, the PC didn't create a Recycler folder on the card. I think we're just gonna have to ignore the capacity info the phone reads because it can access everything, it just doesn't think it can.

Note for all 6GB SDHC card owners... DO NOT FORMAT IT ON THE PHONE!!!!
It WILL create a 1.69GB FAT partition with the remaining space unallocated. WindowsXP and Partition Magic 8 were no help in reverting it back to 6GB. I tried everything and it simply would not delete that partition. Finally I had to go old-school on the damn thing and break out my Win98 boot floppy and run FDISK to get rid of that silly partition. Now it's back to a single partition that shows full capacity. Windows 98 FTW!

    Additional / Missing Features

I flashed my successfully flashed my 1day old phone last night and am quite happy with the results. Minus a few minor setbacks everything went off without a hitch. I did notice a few differences between the VZW & USCellular firmwares. I apologize if these questions/statements have already been answered... Its a really long post.

    1. I had a roaming indicator flashing, to which I went and resent the backed up ERI from RSD General. After doing so I noticed that the ERI Banner (Verizon Wireless) is being displayed even after editing & re-editing seem 0059 - Bit 6 - Checked.

    2. In the Voice activation there is no 'Play<playlist>' command as well as several others.

    3. VZW firmware has a 'World Clock' in tools.

    4. There is no Zoom function in the Video Camera

    5. On the USC Location is either on or Off, VZW: On or 911 Only. Is the USC's off setting 911 only?

I think that about does it. I wanted to Thank everyone involved who took part in this process. I only wish Verizon would take note and leave the phones in the moto firmware.

2 questions. If I flash with the USC firmware when you assign a ringer ID does it over ride the text message sound like the ATT variant? also.. can you assign MP3 ringtones from the memory card like you can with the v9? thanks
