I'm using .09 - Kbman, do you know if .12 corrects this problem? Turboc, you said you weren't able to upgrade to .12 but you were able to flash back to VZW, right? Are you now stuck on VZW or were you able to flash back to .09?

The flashing to .12 seemed to go fine, but I ended up with the dreaded blue screen. I was able to flash back to VZW and I'm stuck there now. I can't go to either of the USC flashes, but can always run the VZW flash.

you may want to try flashing from the vzw to sprint, then to usc. a friend of mine did this and it worked for him. let us know if it works out. maybe that will help all the people stuck on vzw

Doesn't the sprint monster discussed in another thread brick the phone? Can you recover from the brick?

Has anyone gotten stuck with the Verizon UI after flashing back to Verizon from .12? It looks to me that most people who have had this happen originally used version .09 of the USC... And then got stuck. If anyone has gotten stuck with Verizon's UI after flashing back then trying to flash again and has only EVER used the .12 firmware please inform.

I don't use VZNav right now, but what functions are missing from .09 that you get back in .12? What do you mean full feature set in the browser menu - is it any different than what you would access from ##BROWSER? Can you give a link or any kind of summary for the other bugs that it clears up? Does it correct the sensitivity problem with the left outside touch-screen button? Sorry for all the Q's - thanks.

My v9m is now a total brick using the sprint flash. Won't even go to bootloader. A new one is one the way.

Damn, sorry to hear it. Did you ever try using Alltel as a gateway to US Cellular before you tried Sprint?

This is with all updated versions of required software incl. RadioComm 11.3.2, QPST 2.7 build 264, RSD CDMA General 5.1.6 and RSD lite 4.1.

VZNav, MMS, Mobile Web with my HoTTProxy and the native proxy VZW as well as EvDO DUN all work fine.

This message was posted with BT tethering with no modifications at all!

Additionally, MMS works without editing the MMS file to your 10 digit number@pix.vtext.com and I can select Icon view for the main menu. All ringtones work when copied to the phone from the transflash card without modification or deletion of the mytone.db files.

I think that about covers it!

To do this you activated another phone on your account and then started at step two flashing the phone with the .12 firmware?

There seem to be a few people that are not able to complete the upgrade from .09 to .12. Instead they end up with a blue screen of death, and can go back to the Verizon firmware, but can't get back to the USC firmware. Can anyone make an educated guess at what percentage of people are experiencing this? Is it 10% 50% more?

I do have the .09 firmware working on my phone, I haven't been able to test the EVDO as I live more than an hour away from civilization. I would hate to have to go back to the verizon firmware, so I am trying to get an idea of how risky it might be to attempt to upgrade from .09 to .12.

    Thanks

The two big things I would like to know are a) if this version clears up the left touch-screen button sensitivity problem found on .09, and b) if anyone who has had to revert to VZW firmware has been able to use use Alltel software as a bridge back to US Cellular.

Everything else I've tested so far on .09 seems to be working fine, so if there's a fair chance I'll get stuck and have to revert to VZW for good, it doesn't seem worth the risk - especially if it doesn't offer any big advantages over .09. I've now read in a couple of different places that Sprint software is bad news.

So did you flash back to VZW successfully? Did you try using Alltel firmware as a way to get back to USCC?
