Remember the updated guide can be found:
http://iphone.ranova.org (might not work yet, forwards to: http://www.ranova.org/jailbreakunlock.html)

It seems that I cannot edit the original post

    Virginize Scripts not in Installer?!

Where is "Virginize" under Utilities?!! I'm about halfway through the steps and can't seem to find these scripts. Anyone else having this issue?

    Did you install the repo:
Once you are using the latest version of Installer app, install Community Sources, then go to Sources at the bottom right, Click edit at the top right corner, and then click add at the top right corner and type in this url: http://markmon.mine.nu:90/iphone/repo/repo.plist.

You must install that repository before seeing the Virginize Scripts and Anysim 1.1

Thanks Ranova!! It worked-- i must have typed somethign in funny before to get the markmon.com thing. So I'm on 1.0.2 with anysim and my maps program is messed up-- i figured id virginize the iphone and run the new anysim to get me to 1.1.1. When do I sync with iTunes to get the 1.1.1 firmware-- using AnySim 1.1 or going to iTunes directly?

after virginizing, go into the latest itunes, and update your phone to 1.1.1, then read section 2 at http://iphone.ranova.org and perform the jailbreak\activation, THEN install anysim 1.1 to unlock

    hey everyone.

It's look like I found my guide to update now but I have two questions...do I leave my tmobile sim the whole process of virginizing, updating and jalbreaking and activating and unlocking?? and the second question is...does all the features(sms, wifi, widgets, voicmail, red dot, etc) work except visual voicemail?

Sorry but one last question, is it recommended to install lockdown to prevent from jailbreaking, activating and most of all unlocking again when doing a restore?

    Thanks to all!

From my exprience jailbreakme.com doesnt activate or fix youtube it just jailbreaks and installed the installer.app if you want a guide that guides you through all the steps of jailbreaking, activating, fixing youtube and unlocking on a mac or PC and its easy.

    Check it out:

I did all of these steps but when upgrading 1.1.1 on iTunes, it said unknown error (-6) and then went to restoring the iphone (still doing it). This wasn't mentioned in the steps-- is this OK activity?

I had to do a restore and then everything worked fine. Geek.dll's guide was good until you have to install Anysim-- for some reason, it wasn't installing it-- I just followed the first guide and whoila! Thanks guys!

ok, so I tested it AGAIN and I can confirm it DOES jailbreak and activate. However! Youtube does not work fully, I will update my guide with the updated lockdownd patch that works with youtube. No need to go further than that geek.dll, also the updated guide can be found at http://iphone.ranova.org

Guide has been updated greatly and includes an automatic Youtube fix:
    http://iphone.ranova.org

If you are jailbreaking 1.1.1, you will not need a computer, WinSCP, ssh, or anything. Everything can be done on the iPhone!

The old method of unlocking on 1.0.2, survived the restore. Didn't it?
