Guide: Easiest way to Jailbreak, Activate, and Unlock on 1.02 or 1.1.1 (PC optional!)

i have a quick question, do i have to virginize my 1.0.2 phone if it is NOT unlocked? however, it is jailbroken and activation bypassed on the att network.

or, can i just do a 1.1.1 restore through itunes then go to jailbrakeme.com? thx

if you never unlocked, you do not need to virginize. Jailbreaking and activation is fine

I own a full working unlocked 1.0.2 iphone, and I´m willing to go for Bigboss method, but If something happens in between?? Is it 100% bullet proof? What about the seczone backup that DevTeam has constantly remarked on every tutorial?? is a backup made with Bigboss´s method? some file that we can obtain from the phone via Putty or WinSCP ?

everything went smooth for me.... however the only problem I noticed now is that although it says I only have 4.9gb free... that i have ZERO songs. I used to have a good 400+ loaded.

Any ideas?

Ok, so I attempted to unlock my new iPhone. Well, I downgraded from firmware 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 and now Itunes does not read it. I am still able to access the pictures through "My Computer" but I can not synch or update my music.

I was also wondering about editing ringtones and alternate pictures/sounds for the home screen.

If you would be able to help me in any way.. I would appreciate it a lot

Sorry, I dont want to clutter this thread with silly questions from a noob lol. As you can see this is my first post. Anyway I just purchased an iphone through ATT I've activated it normally no unlocking or anything like that.

My question is if I use this guide for jailbreaking through jailbreakme.com how much of a chance do I have of ruining my phone, and with it jailbroken if anything in the future should ever go wrong with my phone I pretty much voided my warranty right?

lol Hope I'm not bothering anyone I'm just new to this whole other world of cellphones. I used to just buy a cell and be on my way. Now im realizing theres so much more potential in this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just bought my iphone, and was real nervous about performing the jailbreak and unlock by myself. That being said, I would like to thank ranova and everyone whose helped with any of this ... it took me no time at all, and the steps followed pretty close to what was going on on the phone (no confirmation call following the jailbreak step, but installer app was on the screen anyway) ...

& trying to just get it to "restore" is a pain in the butt. It won't restore! Top & bottom buttons, same time & no luck!
Tried to jailbreak @ 1st, but the last step will not work.
Firmware is 1.1.1

What am I doing wrong?

OK figured it out...finally & not from the aforementioned instructions, so, I went here...http://iphone.unlock.no/#exploit-fails...& their instructions worked step by step & flawlessly with results in less than 10 mins.
Long story short...I don't know why the above didn't work for me but for many?!? I have 1.1.1 but the other site worked to my favor.

quick question for you people. I'm in the process of running anysim 1.1. After pressing the ok button, it just freezes. Is this normal or is there another screen after you press Ok? If it is suppose to just freeze and unlocking the phone, how long does it usually take?

i got a lil problem doing the method of putting jailbreak n then putting the site "markmon.....", I unlocked my iphone using this method last night which was 1.1.1 n today I bought a brand new one, which is also 1.1.1 n I got jailbreak on there, but when I add the site in the sources, it refreashs but nothing new shows up like the anysim, I cannt figure out the problem, its driving me crazy.....any ideas of what the problem may be???

No, confirmation call, so I power on again, but it bring me back to the Activation screen. Anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!

does the version of itunes matter with unlocked and jb'd phones? I'm running 7.4.2, should i keep it here. Will upgrading to 7.5 affect an jb'd and unlocked iphone? thanks.

Just to answer my own question and to help others as well. Once you restore the phone to 1.1.1 even though it came with 1.1.1 So restoring before activating is the key
