First of all - Boost doesn't use GSM. Thus, no SIM card. The GSM providers in the U.S. use modern (uncloneable) SIMs.

GoogleVoice (domestic call forwarding and cheap intl. calls)
T-Mobile lines on unlimited "family" plan - me, wife. Cost is about $80 a line incl. 5GB/mo. data on each line. We have had no landline in 7 years

Yes. Sprint (and Vz.) are CDMA.Originally Posted by el3men2dr
CDMA networks could use SIMs but the US CDMA carriers have chosen not to use them.Originally Posted by el3men2dr

is there a way you can connect boost unlimited to a country different than the US??Originally Posted by KrazyKritter
Can't imagine that you could seeing as it is a pre-paid service. Most prepaid wireless services in the US are not available outside the US. T-Mobile at least allows Canadian roaming on prepaid now but that's about it.Originally Posted by el3men2dr
i don't know. i am asking because someone trying to sell me a boost unlimited w385 and said i can call dominican republic at no charge at a plan of $120 a month. he told me that the plan is from brazil but the phone number i googled it and it's from port st. lucie in florida. area code 772. is that possible or it's all BS?Originally Posted by KrazyKritter
Comp128v1 sim cards used a flawed encryption to protect the KI, this can be cracked using brute force tools, readily available. Once you have the KI, this can be written to a blank sim card, like the SuperSim availble on Ebay. These hold upwards of 16 numbers, you can switch between numbers by going into the menu, no need to reboot the phone to switch.
Later gen sims, comp128v2, use a stronger encryption which at this time can not be cracked using brute force.
All sims have built in safety measures to prevent unlimited brute force attacks, many people do not know this, but sims can only be turned on/off 65536 times before it stops working.
The comp128v1 sims are readily available new, via ebay, so you could always purchase one and switch your number to it. Problem is that there is no visible way to identify which ones are v1 and which ones are v2, you would have to do some research.
correction... boost doesnt use gsm but it does uses a sim card. my question still stand. can a boost mobile sim card clonable?Originally Posted by mikethaler
Most of these cheap phones sold by deal extreme are dual sim/dual standby. I personally have the zoho V90, and it has performed well for my needs. I do the same thing as you, forward my AT&T via voicestick to my international sim or to my local sim in the country I am visiting.
