So you were able to upgrade back to 1.1.2 and JailBreak it successfully(installer installed)? Appreciate the time and thoughts.
You have to run oktoprep in installer. after that you upgrade to 1.1.2 I have a link if you need help. since I'm on my iPhone now just pm me and I'll get you the link.

maybe this is a really easy question, but i'm on a mac and when i download the .zip file to downgrade to the 1.1.1 firmware from 1.1.2, when i navigate to the folder, what file do i select? it doesn't let me select the whole firmware folder...or am i doing something wrong?

this is what im trying to figure out as well. another interesting thing is that on the PC side, when you download the 1.1.1 it is a single file like its supposed to be but not on the mac?

hey bud, try this...my problem was i was using safari to download the 1.1.1 downgrade firmware, firefox should do the trick for ya.
try these directions, they're pretty to the point. and good luck!~
I just downgraded to 1.1.1 and finally got up the courage to jailbreak my phone. I know you can upgrade back to 1.1.2, but is there really a reason to do so?
And one more question, since I'm new at this whole hacking/jailbreaking thing, if I no longer want installer on my phone, do i just restore my iPhone through iTunes?
i just tried all this with a buddy's phone....tried the downgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 and the downgrade to 1.0.2 and subsequent upgrade to 1.1.1, it all resuted in the same thing:
the connect to itunes image (saying it must be restored)...so i can't get 1.1.1 to work....anyone else have these issues? Tried idemocracy and everything else....
